This past weekend in Orlando was powerful.

To stand in the room with my brothers of Phi Beta Sigma and our Sorors of Zeta Phi Beta for our 2026 Joint State Conference reminded me why this work matters so much.

The fellowship.
The unity.
The honest conversations.
The vision for where Florida is headed.

We didn’t just host a conference — we elevated the bond.

I’m incredibly proud of every brother who showed up, registered, served, and leaned in. Florida continues to lead because of your commitment and your heart for this Brotherhood.

Thank you for trusting me to serve. Thank you for walking with me. And thank you for proving once again that Florida sets the tone.

Honored to have received the “Meeting the Moment” Award today in recognition of the philanthropic and community impact efforts surrounding the 2025 Conclave of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in Tampa, Florida.

What took place during Conclave week was bigger than an event it was a demonstration of what intentional partnerships, service-driven leadership, and community collaboration can accomplish together.

From hosting the Youth Symposium at The Skills Center, to supporting initiatives with Feeding Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries the goal was always to ensure our presence in Tampa created a meaningful impact long after the week concluded.

I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Visit Tampa Bay and so many incredible community partners who helped us showcase not only the city of Tampa, but the power of service and collaboration at the highest level.

This recognition reflects the collective work of brothers, volunteers, sponsors, civic leaders, and community organizations who all stepped up to meet the moment.

Tampa showed up in a major way and I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish together.

Stand for something, even if it means sacrificing everything.

Had the incredible opportunity to meet Colin Kaepernick @kaepernick7 —someone I’ve long admired for his unwavering commitment to justice and his willingness to take a stand, no matter the cost. His resilience, courage, and dedication to pushing for change continue to inspire me in my own journey as a leader and advocate.

Somebody needs this reminder:

You are not your productivity.

Your worth didn’t disappear because you had an off day.

Rest doesn’t make you lazy.

Slowing down doesn’t mean you lost your ambition.

Build the dream.

Chase the goals.

But don’t get so busy building a life that you forget to actually live it.

Because nobody knew you were fighting the battle in the first place.

But you know.

You know what it took to get here.

So stop waiting for somebody else to validate your growth.

Be proud of the person nobody saw you becoming.

You may not be where you want to be yet…

but you’re definitely not where you used to be.

Everybody can’t go with you.

And everybody you outgrow doesn’t have to become your enemy.

Sometimes there was no betrayal.

No big argument.

No villain.

You just grew.

Be grateful for the chapter without being afraid to turn the page.

And please don’t shrink yourself just to remain recognizable to people who only knew an older version of you.

Some people only know the version of you they had access to years ago.

Let them.

You don’t owe anybody permanent residence in a chapter you already outgrew.

Own your mistakes.
Learn from them.
Grow from them.

But don’t let anyone convince you that your past is still your identity.

Don’t let people use your past to disqualify your progress.

That’s the question.

Stop measuring your Chapter 14 against somebody else’s Chapter 27.

Maybe your journey took some detours.
