Hot off the press! There is something really special about having your own track on vinyl. The tangible nature of a 45 make this track more fun to play.It sounds incredible and It’s great to see such a positive response already to this tune. Big shoutout to the @milkcratemondaysla crew for having the remix of “La Murga” pressed on their 8th 7”release. Fittingly, it was 8 years ago when I made this with my friend @djrarematthew1971. Warren Zevon meeting my Dad at Burrito King in Echo Park in 1977. My Dad knew immediately who he was because being a music aficionado, he had all his albums and knew all his songs. John knew that Warren wrote about Echo Park because that was my Dads home. Burrito King recently shut down and it’s gone forever, just like my Dad who left me 27 years ago today. But I get to watch this clip and hear his voice so it makes everything alright for a little while. It’s hilarious that Warren is ignoring him at the end because he won’t stop talking!

Dope news!; This remix of the classic track “La Murga” by the late great Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe is finally getting pressed on 7” for @milkcratemondaysla 8th release!
One of the most classic Salsa duo and one of their biggest hits gets “The Tables Are Turning” treatment with production by me and @djrarematthew1971 turning it into a slow rolling smoker! Of course the flip has a remix of “Fast Life” from Kool G Rap and Nas bu my dude @djabel77

1st beat using the @akai_pro mpc sample!
