I came across this video and it def made me emotional!!! I’ve been doing this since 1980!!! That’s a long time lol!!! But to this day when I come across things like this it always blows me away that this kid from queens …. (ME) … over 4 decades has touched so many lives and inspired them and changed peoples lives all over the world makes everything I have worked for worth it …. The sacrifices ,sleepless nights and work ethic I took to achieve it makes me so happy to know to this day I was able to be one of the many soldiers to push DJ CULTURE forward to the masses around the world thank you @imwithapollo for your kind words and putting a huge smile on my face 🫡❤️ ….. here’s his story 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 big up to my bro @scottstorchofficial that was a hell of a party that night in Chicago …………………”You never know how you’ll inspire somebody, be the person you needed growing up! Young Black Teenagers "Loud And Hard To Hit" released May 10, 1991 on S.O.U.L. / MCA records and produced by The Bomb Squad. This was the third single to their self titled debut album. I was a sophomore in Benjamin Cardozo high school when this single / video dropped and it most definitely got love. I vividly remember the positive feedback from both the black kids from Hollis and the white kids from Bayside. No one felt otherwise because this shit was hard. The sound on their first album reminded me of Ultramagnetic's and "Loud And Hard To Hit" is a perfect example of that. The video was dope and ahead of its time. A polarizing futuristic vibe that displayed all aspects of hip hop culture and if you look closely you can see Dj Skribble doing a fill in on a roof top. I never quite understood all the hate I would read in the media because amongst my peers it was quite the opposite. A lot of people fucked with YBT and especially "Loud And Hard To Hit". It was a raw and aggressive record that I strongly felt should have been the first single. This cassette I'm showcasing is a Mint - Near Mint sealed OG copy.
