3 coffees and I realized that I’ve been DJing for 3 decades now. I’m re-connecting with music, people and friends. This is a space for peace and encouragement. Making music fun again! Captivating and sparking creativity. Shout-out to all my DJ friends and DJs in the industry as long as me (or longer). Especially those who lift up other DJs. That spirit is what this page is all about. Welcome to Third Cup. #djlife #decadedj #maniladj #makatidj by @djthirdcup

Ever wonder what goes into making a DJ mix?

Today I spent about three hours just curating music.

I’m listening for inspiration in my R&B crates — the energy, the groove, and essentially which songs work well together in the mix.

Next step, I’ll be taking these tracks to the decks, beatmatching them, finding the right intros, open breaks, and getting creative.

I’ve got the music. Now let’s see what I can create with it.

Shout out to @mdd.photography this mix is for you!

See you in the next mix. by @djthirdcup

HOUSE FOUNDATIONS is a 30-minute quick-mix session celebrating the soulful, deep and uplifting sounds that helped shape house music.

Chicago. New York. Detroit. Garage. Classic vocals. Deep grooves.

Featuring timeless cuts from Mr. Fingers, Joe Smooth, Inner City, Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, CeCe Peniston, Aly-Us, Cajmere and more.

No quick mixes here. Keeping the groove moving while letting you enjoy each track the way you used to hear it back in the day.

It’s about finding that moment — the bassline, the vocal, the hook and the groove — that makes you say:

“WHHHHHAAAAATTTT!!??”

More mixes to come!!

If you enjoyed the music and would like to buy me a coffee, a Big Mac meal or a slice of pizza, you can here ☺️:

Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice.
Mid-1980s. My bedroom dresser became my DJ booth. Two Technics turntables, a Realistic mixer, and my parents’ AKAI stereo as my monitor — one speaker, that’s all I had.
Records scattered across my bed. Empty sleeves everywhere. I’d fall asleep mixing, doze off mid-set, wake up, and do it all over again.
No Serato. No stems. No key detection. Just trial and error until something clicked. Figuring out what worked, what didn’t, and why.
That’s how you learn. Not from shortcuts. From repetition.
Whatever you’re building — keep going. The reps matter more than you think. 🎧☕

Let the song speak for itself. 🎧

All glory and praise to God — every bit of creativity flows from Him.

Thank you to Kenaniah for “Bahala Na.” Loved this song from the first time I heard it. And thank you to Felix Jaehn & Mesto for the original remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights.”

I am a DJ, not a record producer. My work is taking lyrics and instrumentals from well-known songs and reimagining them into something fresh and unexpected.

Thank you for listening! 🙏

Late night here in Makati, Philippines and I couldn’t be happier to finally release this one. ☕

Cup of Joe’s “Multo” has always been one of those songs that just gets to me. Soulful, honest, and purely OPM. I love listening to this song and now I can dance to it!

Layering those iconic vocals over Hope Tala’s “Leave it On the Dancefloor” felt so good.

This one’s for every Cup of Joe fan who didn’t know their favorite song had a dancefloor moment waiting to happen.

I hope you enjoy this remix as much as I enjoyed making it.

🎤 Vocals: “Multo” — Cup of Joe
🎵 Instrumental: “Leave it On the Dancefloor” — Hope Tala

This one came together in a special way. 🎧☕
Taking “Science” by the incredibly talented Eunice Rain and laying it over a remix of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” — this is what Third Cup is all about. Finding unexpected connections between songs and creating something new.
