Homecourt Atlanta’s first ever PLAYER SPOTLIGHT! 🎾

I wanted to create this series to showcase college tennis athletes, their accomplishments, and some of my favorite videos I’ve taken of them on court. There is no one better to kick off this series than Auburn captain and standout, DJ Bennett! 🦅

DJ is a massive striker and has been one of my absolute favorite players to watch this past season in both singles and doubles. She has quite the list of achievements as the most decorated women’s tennis player in Auburn history, but here are just a few highlights:

🏆 SEC Tournament MVP (2026)
🥈 NCAA Singles Championship Finalist (2024-25)
💪 NCAA Doubles Championship Semifinalist (2024-25)
🇺🇸 2x ITA Singles All-American (2025, 2026)
🇺🇸 2x ITA Doubles All-American (2025, 2026)

AND MOST RECENTLY… 👀
After helping lead the Tigers all the way to the NCAA Championship Finals and then earning a US Open doubles wildcard with Ava Esposito, Auburn announced she will now be transitioning into her next chapter as the team’s new Assistant Coach! 📋🧡💙

"We are going to have a new coach on staff too...part of the family…that was very important to me."

When Jordan Szabo joined the show earlier in the week he hinted that the new assistant coach has been a part of the Auburn Tigers family.

DJ Bennett will be the new Auburn Tigers Assistant coach! Congrats DJ!

#ParsaCoachBomb 💣🔥

After a stellar career with @AuburnWTennis, DJ Bennett is remaining with her alma mater and is the new assistant coach. The four-time All-American peaked at #1 in the ITA singles rankings/#2 in doubles, and just won the American Collegiate Wildcard Playoffs last night to lock in a #USOpen main draw doubles spot. taken in Auburn, Alabama by @djtnns

Four years ago, Auburn took a chance on a girl who had been through three knee surgeries, faced plenty of uncertainty, and was hoping for an opportunity. 18 year old me had no idea of what was to come.

I’ve had the privilege of wearing Auburn proudly across my chest for the last four years, competing alongside the most incredible teammates and coaches, learning how to be a leader, and representing something far bigger than myself. There were unforgettable highs, difficult challenges, lots of growth, and countless moments that tested and strengthened me along the way.

I’ve built lifelong friendships and created memories I will cherish forever. Auburn gave me far more than a degree and a place to compete. It gave me a second family, a community that supported me through every season, and a place that will always feel like home.

Thank you to all my teammates for being the people who made every moment worthwhile. To Jordan, Pete, and Val, thank you for investing in me as a player, as a person, and sticking by me through everything. Thank you to my family for your unwavering support, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. Thank you Lord for guiding me every step of the way, I know I never walked this journey alone.

Finally, thank you Auburn Family, for four years I will never forget. It really is great to be an Auburn Tiger. The best is yet to come. War Eagle forever! 🦅🧡💙 by @djtnns
