4th-11th June. Precious and cherished Barbella family time. Spent some valuable time with my family out in Marbella and got to also go out to one of the most famous restaurants in the area Los Bandidos @bandidosbanus and had we had a wonderful time. Especially and as we were also enjoying it as an early anniversary treat for my Mum and Stepfather.❤️ Was wonderful to spend this time with my brother Liam @gilbertl1 as well with life keeping us busy. Rock on bro.

This short trip out to Spain was a very busy and difficult one for the fam, but we tried to make the most of things together.🫂

Couldn’t help as well, but finally crack on and try and ‘get over my damn reading procrastination’, and actually get some good reading started which I want to finish a series of before the end of the year.🤞🏼 For this I finally resumed one of my all-time favourite Manga #spiceandwolf alongside the pool. That is, for as long as I could before the midges/mosquitoes came out. Haha
Hope to stick with it this time.

Spent our last night together having some truuuuly amazing restaurant quality sushi at home from a nearby fusion restaurant for takeaway. @tuktukasianfusion 😋 Greatest I think I’ve ever had.

Anxious

I wanted to portray what anxiousness feels like, from the paranoia of the uncertain future to the trembling heartbeat that shortens the breath.

When anxious, one can find themself disconnected from reality and transported to a daunting fantasy.

Still so thrilled to have completed the practical element of my PADI scuba diving course last week.🤿🐙 Now rated to go 18 metres with a buddy once I complete the e-learning element. Thank you so much to the team at @simplydiving for helping me get this far and look forward to diving again soon and at home in the UK.

So much has happened these past 12 months, and so glad I’ve been able to get strong enough to do this.

March time Test Shoot. Immersed in the rain and cold of the abandoned wild.
A feeling of anxiety and paranoia is in the air. A presence is here but forever unseen. Along with a grounding sense similar to, but also opposite of Shinin-yoku.

Thank you so much to Azeem for having me take part in this brilliantly atmospheric location shoot before the main crewed Dark Emotional Temperature shoot later in March. It was a privilege to be involved.

Dark Emotional Temperature

“The black zone represents the lowest and darkest end of the emotional temperature spectrum. Indicating emotions turned inward, emitting deep states of sadness and loneliness. It can lead to a state of shutting down, numbness and detachment, completely withdrawing and disconnecting oneself from intense and overwhelming feelings.”

Ukraine war 4 year anniversary commemorative art piece.
The world recently marked the four year anniversary of the full scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia on the 24th of February 2022. Although heartbreakingly for Ukrainians and all of us foreigners broad in the know on the outside, this war has been going on for a lot, lot longer than this. So many across the world were given the warning signs again and again, yet refused to act. 2022 was finally a returning point in this towards clarity, and although progress has been made in going against the tide of complicatness in Russia and it’s proxies acts, it has been fraught with struggles neverendingly again and again from so many sides. All this while Ukrainians continue to suffer who are our allies.
In these times now of truly absolute uncertainty around the world, we must stay united in every way we can, with hands stretched out to help in any ways we can. Help and end this horrific war with a just and lasting peace for Ukraine

The anniversary poster I made here was over the course of a few days alongside other continuing works, and used a combination of Procreate and Clip Studio Paint.

Here we are again. At the end of another revolution round the Sun. 2025, you have been one of, if not the most difficult and testing year of my entire life. Not since the start of 2017 have I been through so much.

People have moved on that I felt would be around for a long time still, there have been tragedies and family losses that have broken our hearts. Life has been turned upside down and an accident has meant I don’t know 100% if my life will be the same again.
But at the same time, I feel like I have been truly woken up more than I have been in a very long time to what really matters. Those who really matter in my life when needed most and to remember my physical and mental health need to take central focus for me, and it might now be working.
Remembered that life moves ‘incredibly quick’, things can change so fast ‘in the blink of an eye’, but also that it’s not too late to set things right.
I don’t have all the answers yet, and I may stumble both literally and in achievements, but I feel that I am heading in the right direction.

To quote the chapters of Anne Shirley, “I have learnt to look upon each Little hindrance as a jest and each great one as for shadowing of victory.”
I hope I can believe in these words, and make them so.
There’s no guarantee that things will be different in 2026… but I’m going to make a good go at it.

This Reel says it truly best. Thank you sir for making it for the world.
