Pipe smoker since 2025. Sharing my pipes and cigars I enjoy! @chicago_pipe_collectors_club @thechicagopipeshow

POSTS STORIES REELS

Straight pipes today! Crazy it’s already November, this year was so packed but at the same time enjoyable from what I remember, as I try and recollect my thoughts 🤣 got my motorcycle operational in the spring, did my first group ride when I got it back from the shop, got closer with my family through some hardship that I was going through, got heavily into pipes like ADHD and some tism added. 😂 Decided to be more social and made this Instagram and joined the @chicago_pipe_collectors_club became a regular at @arlingtonpipecigar have a consistent group of guys I meet every Thursday. Met wonderful people through the pipe community, I’d say this has been a year of healing. A year of being out with people again, being myself, and I thank God for that. This has been the least depressed in a long while and definitely count this as a big win! Now for what I posted, this figurine is from One Piece, his name is Luffy. He is Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, he has been helping so many people along his journey. I won’t go into the details but basically he started by himself and amassed a great crew from helping through their own brokenness. He fights for injustice, he fights for peace, he fights for people he cares for almost till death. In the midst of all that his sheer willpower got him to be that size. Think he’s a great example of lead by example. He fights for his crews dream because someday he wants to be King of the Pirates! On to the pipes, smoking from the Hs Studio pipe some Pipestud by @thebriarfellowship in the @moonshinepipes some @samuelgawith BS Flake I got from @takisandtobacco a little while back. In the @nuttenspipes Bing some Union Square @glpease and in the @petersonpipes Captain Pete Brass Bull by @appalachiancustoms89 only have one cigar left so i am saving that for later. Sorry a longer post, but if you read this far, good on you 😁 #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #tobaccopipe #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Happy Halloween! 👻 I realized after i set up, I didn’t smoke any of my black pipes but didn’t want to redo the set up, so this is what you get hahah 🤣 the background is an art book I got from getting the higher edition of Elden Ring. Thought it fit the eerie theme. That figurine was also in Elden Ring as well. I also am not really the type of person that does holiday decorations, just not my thing. This is my first attempt at trying to do Halloween type of stuff. 😂 Halloween growing up we used to trick or treat at night, streets would be filled with kids going house to house. Now all I see is trunk o treat getting candy out of a car trunk lol I get more and more people are afraid of the changing times, but man I do miss the good old days. I feel like as I grow older I understand that saying now and why they said it. On to what’s being smoked, in the @petersonpipes Captain Pete trying out @glpease Ravens Wing. It was very dried out, but putting it in a mason jar and some humid packs, it’s definitely much better! Tastes great for a 25 year old blend that I thought might have gone bad. Had a bit of mold, but I scooped it out and the rest seemed okay. In the @morganpipes Bones Oom Paul some Warped Scarecrow, haven’t really smoked much of it, was back and forth but it seems like it has grown on me. Nice boozy apple with some caramel notes. And in the @buckeyepipes some @cornellanddiehl Silent Spire. No cigar today as I’ll be smoking one later tonight. #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #tobaccopipe #tobacco by @djypiper1007

The figure behind the pipes is probably one of my favorite anime’s I have ever seen. It’s called One Piece. One of the longest running if not the longest running anime and it’s still going. I do really like the show, but I am not up to date still, because I can binge watch pretty quick if I really enjoy it. I love the depth of the story about a boy who wants to be the king of the pirates and one day find the One Piece. It still hasn’t been found and he explores different worlds, meets different people and enemies. Each character has so much depth and background story. I have always said this, if you want to watch something good, something that has humor, to sorrow, to anger, to happiness, to fear you will get that all in this show. I never thought I would cry from an anime, but it really makes you feel. It shows such raw emotion that isn’t really portrayed in American films or shows. It teaches growth, it teaches about sacrifice, it teaches to challenge. I’ve learned so much from the show that makes me take a step back when life gets hectic. I highly recommend if there is a show you want to try, fair warning it has 1,180 episodes and I’m about 800. 🤣 to move on to the pipes now hahah in the @vitale_pipes some @glpease Union Square, the Sandblast @iwanriesco billard @gawithhoggarthco Dark Birds Eye, and in the @petersonpipes 303 some @madhatters.tobaccos Luthien’s Enchantress Trance. Cigar a @foundationcigars Charter Oak Connecticut. #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #cigar #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Thursday night, a day I look forward to every week now. So far this month has been going well, here and there had some depressed days, but it’s been an overall good month. My birthday is this coming Monday and not sure if I plan to do anything. I usually keep quiet about my birthday, but I know no one knew about it on here, so I thought at least once I’d share to people who don’t know. I used to write poetry expressing my thoughts, I used to write poems in a few mins, I used to write stories with friends we would exchange a notebook and write about post apocalyptic or zombies fiction. I used to draw dragonball z and my parents always asked why I drew pineapple hair guys 🤣, I wanted to film movies as a kid riding around on bikes doing stunts off a ratchet ramp we made. A lot of it has faded and I don’t do much of it anymore. Not sure where I am going with this, now looking to present I am just thankful to be able to spend time with people who also look forward to seeing me. Who also wants to hear what I have to say, who also is willing to share what they have. I might have just gotten to know them, but I feel like I’ve known them for a long time. Kind of spewed out random information about me as I reread what I wrote hahah. Anyways some pictures from last night, got to see @takisandtobacco pipe from @drfrancpipes steam stack, man I do need to save. Great lightweight pipe 👌 the last pic is my commissioned pipe from @pipes_soowood I was sent that pic yesterday morning so I included it in here. Can’t wait to smoke from it! #smokingpipe #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #cigar #artisanpipes by @djypiper1007

For those of you who know, she was one of the hardest bosses I ever had to fight. I never really grew up playing dark souls, but Elden Ring? I got into that game, I still haven’t beaten it, it’s one of the harder games I have played, it was also harder since I played a melee samurai which had no range for some of the bosses. Felt like real life hahah as in I didn’t think things through and believed that I will eventually get there. These games taught me something, that no matter how tough life gets, don’t give up. Now people might say these games are dark, they are but so is life, we take wrong turns, go down rabbit holes, believe in people that betray us, through all that, there will be a solution. Even in the depths of despair, you can still triumph. Get up and fight again. Felt that Aftensmad strength really fit this picture, something full and rich. No cigar today, also packed a few bones with Edisto and Haunted bookshop. Just not pictured. #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #tobaccopipe #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Another photo op of my black bowl pipes. And since it’s spooky season wanted to add the Halloween themed tobacco and some spooky books. I’ve only been doing this Instagram since July, already got over 700 followers. My photos have changed, people I have met over the last couple of months, seeing younger pipe smokers come and go with a new pipe from the lounge has been more consistent. Learning and trying so many blends new and old, has definitely been a journey. Been lots of fun being myself and even being more honest through here has been in some way therapeutic to me. Thankful to the people I have met, never would have thought I’d be where I am being friends with older gentleman who give wisdom and knowledge, even if it is at times just cracking jokes and being stupid. But it’s nice because there isn’t judgement, there isn’t constant hate, it’s just men being men. And I find that it’s a healing process. The cigar I got it from last nights pipe meeting for having a birthday this month! It was free 🤙 #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #cigar #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Mail haul! Some new snuff, only tried the coffin varnish, slightly minty but pretty good! Shipping came in quick! Thank you! @bentzysheimish check him out. #nasalsnuff #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Review time! From @thebriarfellowship the Halloween/ Autumn blends I will do my best. So bear with me, English blends have kind of been hard for me to review. As I’m not sure if it’s my palette, maybe ghosting, or something else, they do taste similar to me. Also the first picture I wanted to do a photo op with some of my “black red pipes” hahah. Tin note for Terry’s smells like some kind of hard candy, maybe some kind of light toffee or caramel. First up in the @petersonpipes Dracula I am smoking Scary Terry’s Surprise. I get a bit spice and creamy notes, a bit bready nice mellow taste. Over all pretty good, will have to smoke more to know for sure. In the small sitter some Autumn Apothecary. Tin notes definitely does smell like pumpkin bread, lovely smell! Smoking I definitely get some vanilla spice, subtle maple, creamy notes. This one I definitely can taste what the description says. Honestly if there isn’t a description it’s hard for me. It helps me to look for that taste otherwise I have a hard time figuring the taste, unless it’s blatantly there. I would say so far the Autumn Apothecary is the one I enjoy the most so far. Will do the Wytchhorn in another post, got home and knocked out for a bit and realized that it’s getting dark 🤣 I find that I usually don’t eat many seasonal foods so that could also make it hard for me to figure tastes. No cigar for the day cause not enough time. #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #tobaccopipe #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Mail haul from @thebriarfellowship some reviews will come soon! Just not sure which to post. Opened all the tins and wow they all smell great! The tin art is also fantastic! Good job @graciejhogue 🙌🔥 #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #tobaccopipe #tobacco by @djypiper1007

Happy Friday everyone! What a treat I was able to get this old fashioned aromatic plug made by @appalachiancustoms89 this was a chat blend he has made. This is also an appreciation post to Anthony, the guy behind these amazing blends. I am thankful for you, you have brought me into this world of getting to know the guys in the chat, which I didn’t know anyone lol but he’s like your cool join us 🤣 it has blenders, pipe makers, pipe master? I think lol and us regular guys who enjoy the smoke. I think it was good timing since honestly I’ve been in the dumps, it’s been a hard year with a lot of personal things that went on in my life. Pipe smoking has allowed me to find some great guys to share life with, to laugh with and be personal with. I may not have met you in real life, but come @thechicagopipeshow we will have a blast man! Can’t wait for next year where I get to meet all the people I can who will come to the show! So for tin notes opening it, smells like orange cream! Someone in the group chat said it would be great with an old fashioned and I’d agree, yet I don’t have one on hand. The orange really shines in this blend. The only orange that it reminds me of is camel twists back in the day! Smoking in the @petersonofdublin Carrollton the Old Fashioned. Also smoking some brass bull in the poker and to end the night with a Caldwell Cigar from @smokingpipescom #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #cigar #tobaccopipe by @djypiper1007

Mail haul! Some new lighters that I received from @official_sherry007 some ST DuPont lighters! These lighters are not real, but still good quality so far. The gold single flame I got it from a friend and I decided to get the other two since they were great quality! Got a dual flame and a slant pipe lighter. The cigar cutter was also from there as well! It has straight cut, V cut and a punch with a small pick. #lighters #stdupont by @djypiper1007

Picked up a tin of Haunted Bookshop, been wanting to try it for a while. When opening I get a sour smell, a bit of what you get from vapers. Smoking in the @smoking_crow_creations bent egg. This also has burley, first smoke I’m getting slight spice, nutty and subtle chocolate notes. Started getting a bit more creamy notes near the end of the bowl. Will probably get more in the future. Fall and spooky season is upon us! 👻 #smokingpipes #pipetobacco #pipecommunity #tobaccopipe #tobacco by @djypiper1007
