Le samedi 4 mars 2006, on décidait d’organiser une petite soirée d’anniversaire à Saint-Servais entre amis... et depuis... 20 ANS ! (OMG... 20 ans 🥲... ça fait mal aux doigts de l’écrire).

20 ANS de fêtes, de gros sons, de beats qui claquent, de basses qui grondent, de techno, d’électro, de tech-house, une centaine de Djs, de jeunes talents, de guests internationaux, de festivals, de tournois de foot, de garden parties, d’afters jusqu’au surlendemain, de millions de litres d’alcool, de coups de main (pour servir au bar, aider aux entrées, vestiaire, ranger la salle, ... on vous aime les copains 😘), de chouettes rencontres, de bonnes collaborations, de « fais peter enculé », ... et surtout d’amitié car c’est vraiment la clé pour réussir à mener un tel projet pendant 20 longues années (20 ! jpp 😭)

Today, I’m celebrating 4 years clean and sober.

I’m not going to write about the daily battle that recovery can be. Instead, I want to share a message of hope.

I’m 4 years clean and sober… and here I am, at an afterparty.

When you’re just starting your journey away from alcohol and drugs, the idea of partying without them can feel terrifying. But the truth is, it’s absolutely possible. Over time, your brain learns to enjoy all the things you used to do with substances—and that includes going out and celebrating.

Of course, you have to protect yourself. If a situation feels risky, leave. Listen to yourself. But as time goes on, those moments become less and less frequent, even if I still stay mindful.

And I’ll tell you something…

Partying clean and sober is actually so much better.

I have more fun. I don’t waste hours in conversations that go nowhere. I’m more focused on the music. And I remember everything.

If you’re afraid you’ll never enjoy yourself again without alcohol or drugs, know this: with time, by listening to yourself and protecting your recovery, you’ll discover a different way to party—and, in my experience, a much better one. taken in Port-Vendres by @dka.live

I wrote this track after a few conversations with a Lebanese DJ who shared the history of her country—its resilience, the wars it has endured over and over again, and the hope that somehow always remains.

Her story deeply resonated with me and became the spark behind this piece.

“The Light Will Stay” also reflects what I’m going through right now. No matter how difficult life gets, there is always a light worth holding on to. Hope is a choice, even in the darkest moments.

This track is a reminder—for myself and for anyone who needs it—that the light will stay ✨

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m going through a period of radical change in my life. This comes after a situation that left me emotionally exhausted.

It was during that time that I wrote « Running Out. » The track reflects the emotional exhaustion I was feeling while still holding on to a small glimmer of hope. Once you know the story behind it, you can really hear it in the choice of instruments and the way the piece unfolds.

I hadn’t shared this release yet. “Saturated” is a track I produced during a time in my life when I felt completely overwhelmed—emotionally drained and carrying more than I could handle. I needed to express it through music.

That feeling of saturation led to a radical life change, and I’m currently going through this difficult period of transition, hoping to come out stronger and in a better place.

Lately, I’ve felt disconnected from music, but I’m excited to begin an intensive three-month production residency. I feel like I have so much to express and share, and I’m going to do it the only way I know how: through music. taken in Charleroi by @dka.live

I draw my inspiration from the source: my life, shaped by the underground.

I’ve asked myself a lot of questions over the past two years.

I hadn’t released a track in two years, mostly because I lacked confidence in playing the social media game.

I took a step back, refocused, and decided to work alone — the way I truly want to, without compromise.

It may not be the key to success, but it’s the path to peace and happiness.

Influenced by hip-hop, jazz, early techno... @dka.live blends so many styles into a unique sound as already released on labels such as @mobileerecords, @getphysicalmusic, @hot_creations, @taleandtone, @mau5trap...

Performing at festivals like @tomorrowland or in world famous clubs such as @watergate.club.official, @pachabarcelonaofficial, @fusebrussels… he was a former lecturer at SAE Institute Brussels before co-founding @outof_border with @jonmosto, a label & production company supporting innovative artists.

About his remix : « In the end, I made 2 versions of this remix because I didn’t like the first one enough. This one came out much better! »

I have been sober for 3 years.

I have suffered from generalized anxiety disorder for many years, and alcohol used to help me regulate my emotions.

In the beginning, it was difficult to relearn how to live without alcohol; I had to face those emotions.

I had to learn how to live sober again, and I discovered a lot about myself.

I learned to listen to myself and to stop meeting the demands of my job at the expense of my health.

After 3 years, I feel at peace and in sync with what I do and with my work.
