POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Getting a career off the ground isn’t just about talent; it’s a constant balance of three areas: Acting, Attitude, and Administration. At DKAC, we follow the legendary Milton Katselas technique to ensure we are cooking in all three.

ACTING 🎬
Becoming a master of the craft itself. It’s about more than “performing,” it’s the technical process of living a life on stage or screen so honestly that it’s undeniable. Milton believed acting is the best way to truly know yourself.

ATTITUDE 📸
Your attitude monitors your talent like an aperture on a camera lens. If you’re hostile or feel like a victim, that aperture closes, and your talent can’t get through. We train to keep that lens open, enthusiastic, and ready to work.

ADMINISTRATION 📈
This is where most actors fail. Admin is taking the driver’s seat in your career. It’s managing your finances, scheduling rehearsals, staying up to date on industry tools, and showing up as your best professional self every single day.

As Milton said, “More artists have screwed themselves up by lack of administration than by lack of talent.”

What is DK Acting Class? 🤔

This studio is built on the legendary Milton Katselas technique, which is the same framework used by some of the most respected names in the industry. Dean Kreyling trained directly under Milton, bringing the authentic training method right here to Las Vegas.

What is scene study? 🎭

In scene study, the student gets to choose. After all, it’s your career and skillset to forge. Pick your own scenes, and decide what characters you want to work on. New students begin with performing a first monologue and get casting suggestions. 🎉

This is an inclusive, uplifting, community space where artists develop & train together. 💪
Sundays at The Black Box. Limited seats remaining. ⬛️

At an audition, of course you do the necessary things like… memorize your lines, prepare your character, nail it to the best of your possibility.

More so than that though, your job is to book the room. Demonstrate that you are a pleasant person to be on set with. Let your personality shine through on your slate.

In Milton Katselas book, he mentions that 80% of getting work is based on attitude. Are you likable? Do you show up on time? This is why we treat class as a microcosm of the industry. by @dkactingclass

Life gets busy. A lot is required for the modern artist.

Sustaining oneself, self development outside of acting, living a full life, and committing to the discipline of learning the craft. Having the touchpoint of class is what anchors us in. One place where we all get each other; and remember why we keep going. 🥲 plus, it’s just a lot of fun. by @dkactingclass
