KHADIJAH — free to download as an ebook on Google Books.

An African psychological drama in eleven scenes.

Khadijah is twenty-four, beautiful, restless and increasingly uncertain of the world she inhabits.

Living with her widowed mother in Nima, Accra, Khadijah begins to experience a series of disturbing visions. In her dreams, three silent women dressed in red surround her on a beach. A white chicken is sacrificed over her body, while the sea watches. When she wakes, the images refuse to remain in the realm of dreams.

Soon, red appears everywhere.

A red hijab. A red dress. A red balloon. A red taxi. Three women watching from across the street. The sea, impossibly distant from the ordinary rhythms of her life, seems to follow her into the city.

Her mother, Hajia Mariama, dismisses her visions as the fantasies of an idle young woman, burdened by poverty, disappointment and the expectations placed upon her. Her friend Dzifa, an intuitive photographer, offers Khadijah work and a temporary escape through his camera. Sade, her psychiatrist, insists upon the distinction between seeing and knowing.

But Khadijah is increasingly convinced that what she sees is real.

Set against the sounds, contradictions and restless energy of Accra, Khadijah moves between the ordinary and the inexplicable. Nima, the mosque, the streets of Accra, a photography salon and the intimate confines of home become thresholds through which memory, faith, desire, trauma and ritual continually intrude upon one another.

At its centre is a woman trying to understand what is happening to her before the world decides what is happening with her.

Is Khadijah experiencing a psychological rupture? Is she confronting an inheritance from a world her rational surroundings refuse to acknowledge? Or are dreams revealing something that waking life has simply forgotten how to see?

Khadijah does not offer an easy answer.

Instead, it invites the audience into the uncertain territory where the psychological and the metaphysical occupy the same space. Its mysteries are allowed to remain mysteries.

Hey loved ones — 🫶🏿

Here’s an interesting article from the 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘤 — about my late grandfather — and his quiet contribution to the development of modern consular law.

It is written by Elizabeth H. Avumegah, a diarist and data analyst with a particular interest in Ghanaian family history.

I hope you enjoy the read. Link in the D. K. T. Djokoto & Co @dktdjokoto bio. by @dktdjokoto

The Volta Region represents an underutilised asset in Ghana’s tourism economy, and we believe patient capital with local knowledge can unlock significant value.

Our ultimate responsibility is ensuring secure structures that transmit wealth and value across generations. This shapes everything — investment horizons, risk tolerance, community integration.

We understand how to think in decades, not quarters. That patience is exactly what regional development requires.
