Hi Danny (He,Him)

Tell us a bit about yourself

I grew up on the Wirral! As soon as I could I would go out in Liverpool. And quickly the density and the variety of options for a night out was so obvious. Even then I felt like I was lucky to be so close to this city. But I didn’t realise quite how lucky I was until I moved away to study composition at Uni.

I am a musician primarily performing as @pipinghotdisco where I DJ and play live Keys in a couple of residencies in Liverpool and Chester. But, I also take work as a session musician playing for a variety of bands and artists. Alongside teaching Piano throughout the week, which I love, teaching students aged 5 and my oldest is 72.

Do you have anything exciting coming up that is happening in Liverpool?

I am super excited to be announced as a new resident for @alinea.events ! It’s been such a privilege to work with James on a few things and making the jump to resident was an easy step! We our hosting a few parties, an all night long session on the 19th September at experiment 625 . And part of the Dance in the Ambience event at EBGBs tunnel on the 16th October where I’ll be on opening duties!

Any moments from your time living in Merseyside that you want to share?

Living on a canal boat we quickly grabbed at an opportunity to stay in the docks for a time. One evening walking home from a night out we got to the docks and saw a man, absolutely bladdered standing on the other side of the gate over the docks taking a piss. We had to go help him turned out he was on the boat next to us! He invited us in for a nightcap before telling us about some amazing antics he’s gotten up to. He manages to some how stay in the docks without paying. He was a character and every time I walk down there now if I catch his boat in the docks I can’t help but smile to myself knowing how long he’s gotten away with it.
