In Loving Memory Mommie at 81Ensuring my student DeAndre Simmons rehearsal goes as planned. The chosen Aida in her first ever "Bumbry Way" vocal arts Academy needed to leave the rehearsal early. So that DeAndre could rehearse she agreed to step in impromptu and I got the shot. She'd sung the Aida Amonasro duet in the greatest opera houses, all over the world, and it was like riding a Bike. Can AI create superstars?Almost 10 years ago, I was asked by David Lee Brewer (then working with Beyoncé) to write the foreword for his book.I thought it would be easy.“Just write what you do every day,” he said.It wasn’t.Reflecting on what you do every day – and usually take for granted – turned out to be not so easy after all.
