POSTS STORIES REELS

Quiz night, 18 floors up. 🌆

DLD alumni came back for drinks, tours, brain-teasers, and views over London that stole the show. 🧠

Many joined the tour of the school too, and for lots of them it was a first look. 💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us. by @dldcollege

Our Art Department welcomed Michael O’Brien, Chair of Photography at @scadsavannah, to deliver a lecture on the self portrait in photography and art. 🙌

With over 50 years in fashion, art and photography, Michael shared stories of working with Gilbert & George and showed work from a wide range of inspiring practitioners. Our whole cohort attended. 👏

SCAD offers 100+ creative degrees across three campuses in America and France, with 99% of graduates in relevant employment. 🌍

Huge thanks to Michael for an unforgettable lecture. ✨ by @dldcollege

🍩 Our students ran a doughnut sale for @unitedthroughsport to bring communities together through sport. ⚽

Huge thanks to everyone who bought a doughnut, and to our @studentcouncildld for turning an idea into action. 👏 by @dldcollege

✊🏾 Black History Month at DLD 🎨

Throughout October, our Art exhibition celebrates the creativity and cultural impact of black artists, exploring identity, heritage, representation and belonging.

Featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Hurvin Anderson, Frank Bowling, Deborah Roberts, Chris Ofili and the late Bonnie Greer. 🖼️

Art challenges perspectives, sparks curiosity and brings us together, reflecting our values of tolerance, respect, curiosity, community and kindness. 💛

Huge thanks to Mr Michael Whitfield for curating the exhibition so creatively. 👏 by @dldcollege

🎓 University isn’t the only route to success. 💼

25 of our Year 12 and Year 13 BTEC Business students headed to the Festival of Apprenticeships at the Kia Oval! 🏏

They quizzed employers, explored higher and degree apprenticeships, and discovered how to earn while they learn, with a recognised qualification and no student debt. 🙌

For many, it was their first conversation with recruiters, and they took it in their stride. 👏 It also brought their Unit 8 studies (Recruitment and Selection) to life.

Well-informed students make confident next steps. ✨ by @dldcollege

Courses, entry requirements, student life: all answered in person. 💬

🌍 Want to do real science in a real habitat?

Our students recently heard all about a two-week science expedition to Croatia with Operation Wallacea! 🐠🌿

Taking part, students would complete a Mediterranean ecology course, an open water course and a reef ecology course, while collecting biodiversity data alongside leading research scientists in fields including conservation management, marine science, botany, herpetology, mammalogy, ornithology, invertebrates and statistical analysis. 🔬

It's a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an interest in conservation or environmental issues, those studying Biology or Geography, and anyone curious about volunteering abroad. ✨

🔬 Science in action at DLD! 🧬

We were delighted to welcome two students from @imperialcollege to DLD to run experiments in synthetic microbiology. Our Biology students got involved directly, taking cheek swabs for the experiments and seeing real university-led research up close.

From building their biology knowledge to developing practical skills, it was a brilliant chance to see where their studies could take them. 🙌

A huge thank you to our Imperial visitors, and well done to our Biology students for their curiosity and enthusiasm! 👏 by @dldcollege

Year 13 Geography were at Slapton Ley last week! 🌊 Fieldwork, fresh sea air and a lot of data collection at the Field Studies Centre in Devon. #Geography #Fieldwork by @dldcollege

🎓 Years 11, 12 & 13 headed to Oxford last Friday for a day exploring life beyond school — attending the Oxford University Open Day!

Students had the chance to sit in on talks, tour colleges, and get a real feel for university life, gathering invaluable insight as they think ahead to their next steps. 🏛️📖
