IBJJF Portland Team Recap 🖤🌹

We brought 10 competitors to the @ibjjf Portland Open, took home 14 medals 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈🥉🥉🥉

It was a milestone day in my jiu jitsu career. I have dreamt of bringing my own adult team to an IBJJF event ever since I was a white belt. A dream come true.

We had tons of wins, several losses, and even a disqualification in a match Emmett was dominating 😅 I’m equally proud of everybody who stepped out there to compete, regardless of results. We put in a great camp for this, and our team’s jiu jitsu has risen several levels over the last few months.

Thank you to all of our supporters and teammates who showed up to help cheer us on, keep us focused throughout the day, and just to be there for us. Our presence was big at the tournament and it blew me away.

See you all at promotions tomorrow night!

I’m excited to announce Coach @wintercoldbjj is officially an instructor at BlackRose!

Winter has committed hours of hard work with our youth programs, as well as founding and growing our women’s program. She represents us at competitions, both as a coach and as participant. We have been fortunate to have her grow alongside the gym as she continues her jiujitsu career.

Please congratulate her next time you stop in! Unless she’s busy teaching because she’ll be on the clock 😂

Thank you so much Winter. We’re grateful for and proud of you. taken in BlackRose JiuJitsu by @dldlux

Only one week left!

Get your orders in for the newest @blackrosejiujitsu summer limited edition no gi set!

They are accepting pre orders until May 22nd with a delivery in mid June. Price is $60 for each piece.

This design is courtesy of @define_arts who is a talented tattoo artist, painter, and muralist if you have ever gone outside you’ll have seen his work around town. We love the detail of the paint dripping being the belt colors on the rash guard.

As always with limited edition sets, they will not be restocked and no guarantee of inventory if you don’t preorder.

When working with @kevjitsu @dldlux and @blackrosejiujitsu they are proud to say they never use AI for these designs. We pay local artists and use a local outfitter. When you purchase a set you’re supporting local businesses and the jiujitsu community.

So what do you think? How excited are you for this drop?! taken in Gresham, Oregon by @dldlux

Today marks 3 months of @blackrosejiujitsu . It’s been a huge success. Success means different things to different people. I want to share what it means to me.

I took these pictures at 8:10 on Thursday. Our last class ends at 7:30. People stayed to drill, to learn, or just to hang out. BlackRose is a place that folks want to be and to build a community together. You all are still in the gym 45 minutes later than you needed to be. That is what I think is success.

Thank you to the endless list of supporters in the Portland martial arts scene that got us to where we are today. Here’s to the next three months and many more. by @dldlux

Soft opening today was a huge success 🙌🏼

Thank you to everyone who came through—seeing this place come to life meant everything. None of this happens without the incredible community we built at our previous gym and carried forward here.

This is just the beginning. Can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for BlackRose Jiu Jitsu 🖤🥀
