Nach knapp 8 Monaten Bergauszeit hat sich - wider meiner Erwartungen - gar nicht so viel verändert. Und doch ist vieles anders. Vom jugendlichen Leichtsinn war eh schon länger nix mehr übrig, aber auch das Urvertrauen, dass schon immer alles glatt gehn und das Glück auf meiner Seite stehn wird - hat ein paar Narben mehr. Da ist eine neue Erkenntnis, welche Konsequenz und Tragweite eine einzelne Fehlentscheidung (oder eben Pech) haben kann. Weiß man eigentlich. Aber wissen oder spüren macht wohl doch einen Unterschied. Eigentlich glaub ich fast mehr an konsequentes Lernen und Sammeln von Erfahrung, als an Glück oder Pech. Ich hab trotzdem beschlossen mir zu erlauben, wieder an meine Portion Glück zu glauben. Genauso wie ich grundsätzlich finde, wir sollten uns öfter erlauben ein bisserl stolz auf uns zu sein. Direkt ausprobiert: Ich bin stolz, dass ich zurück an genau dem Platz, wo bei mir einiges schief gegangen ist, eigentlich nichts als Glück empfinde. Glück, dass mich mein Körper (mit dem ein oder anderen Hilfsmittel 🚡🚲😆) wieder ganz gut hierher trägt und ich vor allem nach wie vor nirgendwo lieber wär. Und Glück, wenn ich auf die Monate zurückschau und an all die Menschen denk, die mich ab diesem Zeitpunkt im Dezember unterstützt und mir diesen Moment im Hier und Jetzt ermöglicht haben 🩶 grazie..

viaggando in bici.. o, vacanza dei colli 🫠

Die Art von Solotrip, die ich schon länger im Kopf hatte und von dem mich die Klettersucht und andere Prios immer abgehalten haben... Das Timing war perfekt und es wird nicht der letzte gewesen sein!! Mit dem Radl reists sich langsam und schnell gleichzeitig, bis in die letzten Winkel der Täler und auf die schönsten Pässe. Je länger du pedalierst, desto freier wird der Kopf… und auch der Magen hat unnormal viel Platz (lieber langsam mit Pizzabauch als schnell mit Gel). Einsam - in a good way.

the cycling era continues. back in december, I had definitely envisioned myself having a few more options by this point, and it challenges me every day to accept the uncertainty & reality again and again and again…

I started this journey with an “everything is possible” mindset, and as time went on, I got tired of dreaming the impossible. However naive it may have been from the beginning — thinking I’d be back in the mountains 6 months after the accident — I just didn’t know any better than to be optimistic.

I have no idea how many of my goals will be within reach or how many more walls I’ll run into over the next six months. But I know that I can always make myself proud by showing up anyway (most days) and finding happiness in the middle of a messy, sometimes painful reality, where nothing goes according to plan.

this little lago getaway was just that — with the two strongest, funniest, most optimistic women I know. 🫶🏼

I’ve been enjoying the doors that have opened for me lately, while trying to accept those that have closed.
structure, new goals & a sense of directions were a lifeline.
as always, physical activity has been keeping me sane, but more than ever I’ve come to realize, that mental work can drain every drop of energy (in a good way too!).

my whole life I’ve considered myself lucky, being able to pursue my dream-lifestyle, growing up and living in a place and within a community I love. this (and also the previous) year held some major setbacks for me personally. at times I was afraid my optimism might eventually run out, but after every low-moment, it came back.
it often felt like standing at a crossroads, where I could choose between the path toward hope and happiness and good mood, or the rather pessimistic road. mostly I chose the former (I think 🙃). and while I truly believe letting yourself feel all the feelings is good and that it’s okay to be down when life doesn’t go your way - I would always choose self-efficacy over self-pity. maybe I’m just a control freak, but if we are only looking at our bad luck, but not our own actions before and after - where can we work on?

I am a big fan of reflecting and looking back, seeing if perspectives have changed or how life has shaped me and my people. right now, I feel like it’s best for me to look nowhere but forward. forward to the small progresses, forward to be moving, training, working, to be out in nature again.
