In 7 days, I will graduate from Albany State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. I began my college career as a marketing major, but I quickly realized I wanted more. After recognizing my potential, hearing multiple professors suggest that I change my major, having long talks with my mentor Dr. Patani, and getting the push I needed from Ms. Williams’ class… I decided to switch to Accounting. Now, I am proud to say that I have seen it through, put in the work, and will soon be a part of the 2% of Black accountants in the U.S.📚When I first stepped onto the campus of Albany State University, I was unsure of what my future held, scared to make the wrong move or take the wrong turn. There were many times when I doubted myself and questioned my decisions. These last four years have tested me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’ve made friends along the way and lost even more. Every test, obstacle, trial, and tribulation has shaped me into the woman I am today, and I thank God for every lesson learned. 🥹I thank God for giving me strength even when times were rough and my faith was low. This journey has not been an easy one, and that makes this degree so much more meaningful. Many people know my name, but very few know my story. Just know, I came and conquered. 🖤 by @dluxelaces
