Back to #lifedrawing with the wonderful Chiara. She’s the only model who radiates all the colours of the rainbow to me. Forgot to post last week’s efforts, so have included my three best drawings of Cam. Enjoying the restraint & subtlety you can achieve using pencil. Still so much to learn, but so many glimmers generated from these sessions. by @dmcahill2000

This was harder to select than I thought! Here are my 10 books for the Australian #top100books. I chose to not include great Aussie reads I voted for last year. How did you go? Which books are going on your list? by @dmcahill2000

Back at #lifedrawing with the fabulous Giuli. So many glimmers generated creating this morning. My favourite piece is the last one, she seems so haunted. Not sure what that says about me right now. Promise I am fine, just processing a cauldron full of emotions. As ever, loving the process and the great chats with other drawers. by @dmcahill2000

And these two adventures in #lifedrawing is where the abstract colour really took off. So many glimmers generated in this class. Much to learn. Even more to appreciate about beauty and life. by @dmcahill2000

Today’s #lifedrawing adventure started off as exploring where the weight is and then got way more abstract. Do I know where this is going? No. Was it fun? So much fun. Lots of glimmers to be found creating these drawings and sharing my process and perspective with a room full of talented artists. by @dmcahill2000

Another great morning spent #lifedrawing and experimenting with making each mark count. So much to learn but a huge thanks to Ian for the graphite pencil in the short poses and encouragement. Not sure where this is going, but enjoying the process all the same. by @dmcahill2000

Back to #lifedrawing for the second week in a row after a long break. Had the pleasure of drawing Peter today. Still heaps to learn but much joy generated in creating these pieces. by @dmcahill2000

Hey Australia do you have one of these? Maybe like me after the horrific attack at #bondibeach last night you want to show our Jewish community that you stand with them in these dark times? Booking in to donate blood 🩸 is one way to show solidarity, particularly for us O negs as we are universal donors. I am horrified and appalled by the hate and violence enacted against so many last night. But this is a small way to show all of the victims and their families that I want better for Australia and all who call this place home. I want a country that is safe for all people of faith and those without faith as well. Hanukkah is all about shining a light in dark times. May we all individually find ways to do this in our daily lives. by @dmcahill2000

Really enjoyed creating this #lifedrawing piece. So many glimmers of joy. by @dmcahill2000

Finally got to #lifedrawing for the first time in months and while I still have much to learn, it was amazing. The joy that comes from this kind of creativity is difficult to express. This model is the only one with the energy of all of the colours of the rainbow. by @dmcahill2000

After a big week of feeling the need to justify myself and my kids to a hostile world, #lifedrawing was just what I needed. This model had such serene yet powerful energy and I drew her in a sea of grey. This week’s life lesson is that standing out isn’t easy but hiding who you are will cost you more than you know. So drawing all my feelings I guess. by @dmcahill2000

Back to #lifedrawing after a big week and for the first time I finished a piece in the ten minute slot! Very happy with this & the glimmers of joy I get from this form of #creativity. by @dmcahill2000
