People prepare you for the competition. Very few prepare you for life after it. When the game you’ve dedicated your life to is suddenly gone, you’re left trying to figure out who you are without it. I lost a part of my identity when my playing career ended, and the mental battle that followed is something many athletes experience. Even today, it’s a journey I’m still working through. “UNTOLD TRUTH” For the first time, I’m publicly sharing my story. In this sit-down interview, I open up about my football career at Texas A&M, how my career came to an end, and the challenges that came with walking away from something that had been such a big part of my life. This conversation is more than just about football. It’s about adversity, identity, growth, and finding purpose again… I also talk about how coaching became my outlet and gave me a new way to stay connected to the game I love. A lot of people only see the surface, but in this interview I lay everything on the table and speak on parts of my story I’ve never shared publicly before. My hope is that by being open, my story can help someone else who may be dealing with setbacks, transitions, or trying to find their way after life doesn’t go as planned. Huge thank you to @chipbakertsc for giving me the platform to share my story. The interview is live now on my YouTube . LINK IN BIO. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to watch, listen, and support. by @dmorris_11
Reminiscing a little more today considering the best time of the year has started. People always ask me “Why I didn’t continue my football career or pursue the NFL”… In 2021 I medically retired from football due to numerous concussions/focusing on my mental health. To this day it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face. Not every day is easy. I still face personal challenges, but keep pushing through them. However, I’m forever thankful for the lessons learned, the highs and lows, along with the relationships and memories made from football! It truly made me into the man I am today... As I’ve transitioned into my new career, I truly believe everything happens for a reason, and I’ve come to realize that God had a different path for me. One where I can continue to make a difference and have a lasting impact. Truly blessed! #GigEm #A&MvsEverybody by @dmorris_11

Almost 7 years with this one. July 30th, 2022 can’t come soon enough.. 🤍♾️ by @dmorris_11
Throwback: 2021 was set to be my breakout year. I had to battle through adversity the entire season & fought for everything I earned. It definitely molded me into the man I am today. At this level in college football you have to fight for what’s yours, ain’t no handouts! by @dmorris_11
Can’t wait to see what my future holds, Gig’Em & God Bless.. 🙏🏽 by @dmorris_11
