Soccer is bringing the world to Toronto this summer, but music is too.

I spent the evening at the opening night of @torontosummermusic, experiencing the
internationally renowned ensemble Les Arts Florissants in a breathtaking performance that
combined opera, music, dance, and storytelling.

The performance featured Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s La descente d’Orphée aux enfers,
bringing the timeless story of Orpheus and Eurydice to life in one of Toronto’s most beautiful
concert venues.

What struck me most was how live performance can transport you somewhere entirely
different while connecting everyone in the room through a shared experience.

And experiences like this are made possible through support from @ontarioartscouncil,
helping keep arts and culture accessible while supporting world-class artistic programming
across Ontario.

"Art is fundamental to the human experience. It forges connections between us, ignites inspiration, delivers joy, provokes deep thought, conveys messages that words alone cannot, and has the power to halt us in our tracks, forcing reflection. As a society, we have a collective responsibility to respect, protect, and support it in every way possible—not as a luxury, but as a pillar of our shared humanity." - Eva Fydrych, Founder & Art Director of Fashion Studio Magazine and Travelling In Style

👉 Enjoy our selection of the top 5 artists to watch—incredibly talented individuals I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with at the media preview of TOAF, Canada's leading contemporary outdoor and online art fair. Save this post for later and be sure to check out their profiles. Thank you for your support! ❤️

UNION SUMMER INFO ⬇️
@torontounion Union Summer is back! Until Aug 9, enjoy food, music & fun!

UNION SUMMER
📍Union Station, 65 Front St W, Toronto

The best time imho for families is on a Sunday. It’s quieter, a big band plays & you can pair it w/ something steps away(Jr. Jays, Second City, Science Centre). There’s also card/board games free to play

FOOD/DRINK
10% off food/non alcoholic drink w/ TD card

WICKED CARIB
Jerk 🐔 w/ rice & peas, coleslaw $17
Super spicy (even at mild), good flavour, tender meat

SUMAQ
Mix Shawarma $16.49
Good to share b/w kids (cut into 2 pieces), can be customized to remove items if they’re not pickled veg/onions fans

UGLY DELICIOUS
The Classic (double) $10 & Cajun Fries $7.50
If you’re getting for the kiddos, a single patty will be sufficient & the 🍟 are pretty big
These are saucy burgers w/ pickles in case your kids don’t like

NARCOS TACO
Mix + Match $20 (chicken & steak)
Some spice seasoning to it (the steak less so). My 6 year old finished off 1.5 tacos
Birria Taco $18
LOTS of filling, not spicy, salty fr. The cheese. My one critique is that there isn’t a lot of consomme provided

RURU BAKED
Mini Scoop $3.50 + sugar cone upgrade $0.25
The perfect size for a kid — my kiddo chose Cookie Butter & we tried lactose free pineapple Tajin
If you want to share the flight is perfect for 2 ($9.50 3 flavours). We tried Pandan (flavourful), miso crumble (the unexpected hit) & condensed milk and red bean (solid)

Mocktails $8.50 — while cute (the mango slush is the best one),
I’d more likely recommend the Jarritos ($3) if you’re wanting to purchase a non-alcoholic drink

Have you been? What would you try?

Thank you to everyone who attended our evening with @torontooutdoorart at @kofflerarts, as they hosted the Don’t Look Back Exhibition, an off-site group project celebrating TOAF’s 65th anniversary.

Inspired by the 1967 documentary film on Bob Dylan, the exhibition Don’t Look Back explores the idea that while our past experiences shape us, it is our actions in the present that define who we are and who we will become.💙🤍 taken in Koffler Arts by @dmpublic

Soccer is bringing communities together across Ontario this summer — but art can do that too.

If you’re looking for something beyond the crowds, I recommend the powerful cultural experience at @at_theagh Camille Turner: Hometown Queen which left me in awe!

The exhibition explores themes of identity, belonging, history, and community through thought-provoking contemporary art that encourages visitors to look at familiar stories from new perspectives.

What I loved most was how the exhibition invites reflection while remaining deeply connected to conversations happening right now and through various mediums.

Experiences like this are made possible through support from @ontarioartscouncil — helping
keep arts and culture accessible while supporting diverse artistic voices across Ontario.

✨ Camille Turner: Hometown Queen
✨ On June 26th to January 3rd
✨ A meaningful addition to your Ontario summer plans

Save this for your next arts and culture day trip.

Play on the Runway is back this summer! @yzdtoronto invites Toronto to experience public space differently as Play on the Runway returns for its fifth year. As YZD’s longest‑running public event, the free festival transforms more than a kilometre of the former Runway into a people‑first place for movement, creativity, and connection – offering Torontonians rare access to a site once closed off from the city.

Taking place Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, from 12 PM to 5 PM, the free event opens up a space unlike anywhere else where visitors are encouraged to explore in their own way: biking, roller skating, skateboarding, rolling, unicycling, running, picnicking, or simply strolling and taking it all in!🚴‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🛼🛹 by @dmpublic
