POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve been experimenting with a laptopless live set ahead of playing @thenarrativeliverpool next week. I’ll be playing new versions of old pieces and chatting about process, alongside some great acts on the lineup.

It’s a brilliant night with a wonderful format (who doesn’t love songwriter circles!) and I’m very excited to take part.

I recently collaborated with my friend, the incredible composer/saxophonist Daniel Thorne to contribute a new piece to the Sound Sauna at this year's Fremantle Biennale.

Our track Fluvial Time submerges listeners in a drowned river landscape, where rising waters and shifting topographies evoke a fluid sense of time stretching behind, and before us…

If you like SOUND and SAUNA please head down and check it out. There’s so much incredible work at the Biennale this year!

A new track! I was chuffed to be asked to create a new piece with @nature_theartist @soundsright.earth for Earth Day, alongside 30+ amazing artists 💚

My piece, Chronograph, features sounds from visits to Tasmania over the last 12 years.

“Five albums into a garlanded career, the Sheffield sisters’ work is getting more radical by the release… this album twitches and gambols with life from start to finish”

Today we’ve released the second single from our forthcoming new album, Start Close In. Go listen to our new song Un Voltigeur on all streaming services 🧡 featuring the amazing Daniel Thorn on sax @dmthorne 🎷

And we’re also so excited to announce tour dates for November in which we’ll perform the new album in full!

Un Voltigeur is a song learnt in Anna’s friendship circle - a song about who to love, who to trust, all within the guise of how to tend to the garden. Anna wrote a new melody, translated and re-wrote some of the lyrics to the traditional song, which is still sung in the polyphonic singing communities of the Pyrenees.

Ah, if love had roots
I would plant it in my garden
I would give it to those who deserve it,
I would plant it in all four corners
