From dead last to the podium, this one meant everything.

Mid-Ohio, what a weekend.

What started with engine issues from a bad ground cable turned into one of my best race events yet.

Qualifying was cut short when the engine shut off, leaving me starting P19 out of 25 for Race 1. I fought my way up to P11 early, but contact ended my race prematurely.

That meant dead last for Race 2.

The Khill team worked through the night to repair the car, and we came back ready—but the electrical issue wasn’t fully gone. The car sputtered throughout the race, killing lap time. Still, I pushed through from last to finish P8 overall.

Race 3 was the one.

Starting P7, I wasted no time moving forward. Chaos ahead opened the door, and suddenly it was a 3-way fight for the lead. Lap after lap, side by side down the back straight—eventually down to a 2-car battle for the win.

On the final lap, I had my move lined up… but a full course caution meant I had to give up the position since I didn’t make the pass before the flag.

P2 overall. P1 in class.

My best finish yet in FRP and two trophies to take home.

Huge thank you to the @khillmotorsports team, my engineer @bmwlotus01 for keeping the car alive all weekend, my driver coach @simon.sikes and my sponsors @speedyembroideryprinting @ilovesobe @alphapriority @adrny.tech @carbotechbrakes @hoosiertire @dmvstop @dmvstopracing for the continued support.

Road America is next… or maybe something sooner 👀 Stay tuned. taken in Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course by @dmvstopracing

I’m still in disbelief over what we achieved this past weekend. 🏆🏁

This has been my hardest season yet. We’ve dealt with car trouble at every single race weekend, including this one. The frustrating part is that every time the car has performed, so have we, and the results prove it.

But that’s racing. And man, do I love this game.

CMP challenged us from the start. The newly resurfaced track was extremely slippery, & we spent the weekend chasing setup. The team at K-Hill got it right for Race 1, only for the car to shut off while I was running P5 overall.

Race 2: Started P9. P3 by Turn 1. Finished P2 overall & P1 in class.

Then came the Feature.

I qualified on the FRONT ROW in P2, just one tenth off pole. I fell back to P4 early, but stayed with the leaders, managed my tires and waited for my opportunity.

Then everything changed.

Two incidents ahead suddenly left me LEADING under safety car, with the championship leaders right behind me.

Time to lock in.

The pace car pulled in, I punched it, & @bossmovesracing was immediately on my tail. Down the back straight, he went for the pass.

I defended.

Coming onto the front straight expecting the checkered flag…

WHITE FLAG.

ONE. MORE. LAP.

My tires were falling off. Boss was right behind me. We both knew it was now or never.

One final time down the back straight, he went for it.

I defended again.

Held him off.

Final corner. Front straight.

CHECKERED FLAG. 🏁

P1 OVERALL.
P1 IN CLASS.
MY FIRST FRP OVERALL WIN.

After five years of racing in FRP and a season filled with mechanical failures, wrecks, setbacks and personal challenges…

WE FINALLY DID IT.

And apparently, at the tender age of 41 😂, I can still hang with kids less than half my age.

I can’t thank the entire K-Hill race team enough, especially my mechanic Stefan and driver coach @dario_cangialosi_racing , for never giving up. To my sponsors, family, friends and everyone who follows these races and cheers me on — THANK YOU.

If this season has taught me anything, it’s this:

No matter how many times things don’t go your way, keep showing up.

Keep fighting.

Keep believing.

Because eventually, your moment comes.

This one was ours. 🏆🏁 taken in Carolina Motorsports Park by @dmvstopracing

Two second-place starts and two second-place finishes at my home track of Watkins Glen. What a weekend.

Race 1 was one of the strongest drives I’ve put together. I led most of the race before my teammate retook the lead on the final lap. I had one last shot at him coming to the checkered flag, but came up just short.

Race 2 got interesting early. Going into the Bus Stop, the third-place car made a move that left me with a split-second decision: force the issue or avoid a potential wreck. I chose the latter and dropped back.

After fighting my way back into second, I went on the hunt. Lap after lap I closed the gap, eventually getting within striking distance as we worked through traffic and lapped nearly the entire field.

Congratulations to my teammate on the wins and a new lap record. To be within five tenths of that pace is a huge step forward and proof of how much progress we’ve made.

Huge thanks to my sponsors, K-Hill Motorsports, my family, fans and everyone who makes this possible.

After being sent to the back of the entire field before the race even started, I had two choices: let it get in my head or put my head down and drive.

So that’s exactly what I did.

After being handed what I believe was an unfair penalty in Q2 and then getting sent to the back of the entire grid due to a major SCCA mix-up, I found myself starting behind cars that weren’t even in my class and had significantly less horsepower.

Starting dead last, we worked our way through the entire field one car at a time. What should have been one of the worst race weekends of the season turned into one of the best so far. With everything stacked against us, we fought our way from the very back to the very front and brought home the win.

No excuses. No complaining. Just staying focused, trusting the process, and getting the job done.

I have to thank God first above all else. Nothing, especially this race, is possible without Him 🙏🏽

A huge thank you to the team at @khillmotorsports for giving me an incredible car, to my sponsors @speedyembroideryprinting @ilovesobe @casaadornocollection @adrny.tech @alphapriority @dmvstop @dmvstopracing for continuing to believe in me, and to my family, friends, and everyone who follows along and supports this journey. None of this happens alone.

If there’s one thing this weekend reminded me, it’s that setbacks don’t define you. How you respond to them does.

And for anyone out there thinking they’re too old to chase their dreams, I’m proof that you’re not. At 40+, I’m still chasing mine and still finding ways to surprise myself.
