Hilary Duff @ OVO Hydro, Glasgow / 13.9.26

✨this is what dreams are made of✨

all the nostalgic y2k vibes last night seeing Hilary Duff !! like many, i grew up watching her on tv/film & i’ve been a fan of her music for just as long. was incredible to finally get the opportunity to see her live, she is the ultimate pop princess & dayum that voice was HYDRATEDDDDD 👏 hard to believe that the last time she played in Scotland was 20 years ago !!

incredible setlist, stage production, everything !! big up to the people i saw in their Lizzie Maguire outfits (including that one person in the igloo dress !! iykyk !!), the audience members who did the With Love dance on stage & special shout out to the gorgeous couple that got engaged during the show too 🫶

only fitting that i went to this show w my best friends @courtsssxox, @charly.marion & @charlie_torrance - considering we’ve all got matching Lizzie Maguire tattoos - can’t think of a better group of gorgeous people to attend with 🤍

amazing support set from @larouxroux - highly recommend catching her live if you ever get the opportunity to as well

5th time seeing them live & 2nd time this year - i’m always in my happy place whenever i see Deftones perform. another incredible show & i’m so fckin chuffed i finally got to hear Risk live !! (didn’t get a clip of it tho, boo)

IDLES were fckin siiiiick too. gotta catch them live again at some point.

Primus @ The Barrowlands, Glasgow / 18.8.26

a bucket list band that i didn’t think i’d ever get a chance to see live, but i did!

amazing show by Primus last night at the legendary Barras! they’re an interesting band for me because i never quite know how to describe their music… microtonal funk rock? regardless, i’m so so happy that i finally got to hear my fave tunes of theirs live.

a joy as always going to see shows w my dad @chief_low_income - he fucking loves these guys and it was his first time seeing them too, so we both were in our element

The Weeknd @ Wembley Stadium, London / 16.8.26

omfg i can’t believe i can finally say that i’ve seen The Weeknd live! he is my favourite pop/rnb artist & i’ve been wanting to see him live for many many years now.

i first discovered him all the way back in 2015 when i heard “Can’t Feel My Face” on the radio and i’ve been a fan ever since. this show was N3 of the After Hours Til’ Dawn tour in London, and i was so chuffed that i won the Ticketmaster war to get a ticket. after a year of waiting, this was my most anticipated show

this show was electric from start to finish. the stage production was absolutely phenomenal and the running narrative throughout was so deep and so well executed. as a singer myself, i was mad impressed by Abel’s vocal ability and how scarily close to the records he sounds live. the setlist was perfect (tho i was gutted that Kiss Land wasn’t on there) - i had literal goosebumps when he played São Paulo & The Hills live. 10/10 show, absolutely no misses.

this was genuinely one of the best concerts i’ve ever been to, words can’t describe how incredible it was. i really hope this isn’t the last time i see him live because i would do it again in a heartbeat.

also shout out to the staff at @wembleystadium btw, they were so friendly, helpful and the organisation at the venue was excellent. was nervous about attending my first London gig by myself, but i’d gladly do the trip all over again. also side note: that After Hours Spritz is a cocktail i think i will dream about forever 🤤

if you’re attending on the remaining nights of the tour, you’re in for a treat!

This is Smacky.

Many of you know him as the crazy thrash punk nomad throwing himself & his abundance of multi-instrumental talent around on stage. A few of you might even know him by his government name. But to me… this is my Dad.

Born on this day in 1976, anyone who knows Smax knows he’s a vibrant, extroverted, fun-loving soul and a true Leo ♌️ at heart. My dad has always been the life of the party. He’s the wisest, funniest, kindest, most open-minded & selfless person I know. He’s spent his life standing up against injustice, embracing people from all walks of life, & trying to leave the world a little better of a place than what he was brought into.

Music has always been his calling, but becoming a dad became his greatest role. Somehow he balanced fatherhood, life, family & his music career while simultaneously teaching me & my brother to be kind & morally stand up for what’s right. Yes, he even famously taught me that I will always have his permission to throat punch a nazi. 👏

Some of my favourite memories with him include watching Jackie Chan Adventures, kicking each other’s ass at Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, long walks through John Muir Country Park as well as countless gigs & festivals - but nothing will ever top having him beside me playing rhythm guitar for my Undergraduate performance in 2018. This man didn’t miss a single rehearsal, he learned every song, & was my biggest supporter through it all.

My dad is the reason why music is my passion today. He introduced me to many of the bands I listen to, & he’s always encouraged me to chase my dreams despite knowing how difficult this industry can be. Beyond music, he’s been my voice of calm & reason through every challenge life has thrown at me.

Dad I say it all the time, but I truly am the luckiest kid in the world to have a dad like you. There’s no one on this planet quite like you, & I don’t think there ever will be. You’re my best friend, my biggest inspiration, & no words will ever be enough to describe how much I appreciate & love you. I would choose you to be my dad in every single lifetime.

Happy 50th Birthday Dad. Half a century going around the sun ain’t too fkn shabby. 🤍

House Of Protection @ Slay, Glasgow / 8.7.26

from the moment this band launched a few years ago, I knew I needed to see them live. last night’s gig was unlike anything I’d ever experienced - high energy from the very start, a continuous wave of crowd surfers, circle pits & wall of deaths, every single person in that room was BOUNCING. this show was one to remember. definitely one of the best gigs I’ve ever attended. I really hope these guys return to Scotland soon because I’d see them live again in a heartbeat. fucking love these guys & cannot recommend them enough, they’re absolutely killing it rn.

ty @st33vis for taking the time after the show to say hello to us all 🤍

it was also so sick seeing ma pals @newshapesuk & @since2000uk on support & smashing their sets as per.

thank u to ma wonderful bestie @sarahisapixie for attending this 1 w me, it was also so wonderful to bump into some old & new friends whilst we were there too 🫶

ps. I wouldn’t be surprised if this show gave me permanent hearing damage - don’t be a silly goose like me, remember to wear yer ear protection folks!
