OK, so this is the start of a back to back long term study between semi active and passive suspension with more development in the mix 🪄

A few thoughts on the Tractive + DSC set-up post @dneventsofficial.

We know this GT4 well on standard PASM, on road and track. For the ‘Ring, we fitted @tractivesuspension_automotive with the GT4 Tractive @dsc_sport map, using springs around 50% stiffer front / 40% rear.

Ride height, geo and aero remained unchanged, with the OEM MS toe arms retained — so we had a very familiar starting point.

On the road: the extra spring introduces a little ‘bobble’. Not necessarily our choice for a predominantly road car, although there’s scope to explore what can be improved further with DSC mapping. The verdict is still out 👀

On track: it’s a YES. More support, more control, less dive on braking and still predictable. No twiddly knobs like on a passive set up, just programme and go.

The limiting factor? Tyre. And honestly? Talent 😂

Rain was forecast, so we went with PS4S. In the dry, one good lap saw them at over 50°C and moving around more than we’d like. From there, we were driving to the tyre rather than finding the limit of the chassis.

BUT that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Driving to the tyre has its benefits when you’re still learning the ‘Ring — and we very much are. A predictable car moving around isn’t the worst way to build confidence, consistent lap times and learn the circuit.

So, track: yes. Road: jury’s still out.

Next stop: Donington Park on Cup 2s — a circuit we know well and have driven many times with standard PASM and Cup 2s.

It’s never just about the laps.

The noise, the speed and the cars are what bring everyone here. But it’s the conversations in the car park, the familiar faces and the people you share it with that make the Nürburgring what it is.

Awesome @dneventsofficial trackday at the Ring !

I'm absolutely loving the R8 at the moment.

Mega chase laps with @alclark , @scooba.steves ,@will___halls and @russ_swiftperformance whilst I was testing the new @vitourmotorsport Sonic semi-slicks.

I've tried to sum up my thoughts in the following images. Any questions, please ask in the comments and I'll reply.

These tyres do seem to be the real deal. 👍🏼

It's taken time but the M3 finally made it home. First time at the ring and first time at @dneventsofficial. Just wow! This track really is something else. I'm home now but still in awe. Tbh I didn't know what to expect from myself or the track. So I didn't set any goals or timeframes.That being set I managed a sub 8 lap so very happy with that (and the car came home in one piece).

Lastly, it was a great vibe! Talking to people I know and people I don't know is also what makes it a great experience. I really enjoyed the double header and the selection of cars on a @dneventsofficial is mind blowing!

I will definitely be back and can't wait to do it all again 🤩 taken in Nürburgring Nordschleife by @dneventsofficial
