Opened the camp for the season with Kiah and my friend, Ryan. Ryan orchestrated the installation of the hot tub, and Kiah caught her first trout on a fly! A short but memorable trip! FYI: the eggs belong to our loon family who decided to nest this year right near where we put-in to canoe across the lake— a special treat! by @dnewt1961

Skiing in NH in June: what a concept! First time back to Mt. Washington since the death of Nick Benedix. On the descent, I honored his memory at the bridge over Raymond Cataract and then soon after saw someone’s memorial plaque on the side of the trail. I missed it on the way up. It stayed with me all the way down. by @dnewt1961

Soon after crossing the brook about ten minutes up the Mount Tecumseh Trail, the Trout Lilies carpet the forest floor. The last slide begs the question: how can such a beautiful flower produce such a clunky looking shadow? It’s a rather perspicacious perspective— by @dnewt1961
