He is the author of the New York Times bestselling book Algospeak, which explores how social media is transforming language and communication. A graduate of Harvard College, where he studied linguistics and served as president of the Harvard Undergraduate Linguistics Society, Aleksic has lectured on language and social media at leading universities and is a frequent guest on NBC and NPR. He is currently writing a new book examining how technology is reshaping our sense of reality.Daniel Keller is a “formal” artist and internet theorist, who coined the term sloptimist. He has exhibited internationally as a solo artist and as half of Aids-3D, a seminal post-internet collective. He was formerly co-founder of New Models and Channel.xyz. The works construct aerial panoramas of synthetic landscapes that bring together architecture, topography, light and texture. Beneath their digital allure, these landscapes reveal the vulnerability of areas shaped by resource extraction and unsustainable urban expansion. Land is not neutral: it bears the imprint of industrial exploitation.Martti Kalliala is a Finnish architect, writer and researcher whose work reflects on contemporary notions of spatiality. WELLS OF LIFE brings together works by Aids-3D (Daniel Keller & Nik Kosmas) and Anan Fries that originate from different moments in technological development yet share a similar gesture: technology as a projection surface for radical possibilities. Between the techno-utopian Internet optimism of the late 2000s and the biotechnological fantasies of the present, machines, networks, and bodies appear as open systems and are used as a medium for speculative visions of the future.
