A time was truly had at the @naacpimageawards Nominee Luncheon. Being in a room filled with so many legends and brilliant creatives was incredibly inspiring. I’m deeply honored to be nominated among such talented editors @maysiehoy @michaelpshawver @ralphsedits @shaheed333 especially in this historic year, as Outstanding Editing in a Motion Picture or Television Series, Movie or Special is being recognized for the very first time.

My heart was so full seeing my colleagues and friends honored as well. Congratulations to all the nominees! And a special shoutout to @chinakahodge and @darataylormusic I have so much love and appreciation for you both. You poured so much of yourselves into #Ironheart and it truly shows. @comedianlilrel my fellow Chicagoan it meant sooooo much to hear that you enjoyed the series🙏🏾

Happy 21st Birthday to my beautiful baby girl, Sami! 🎉❤️
It’s hard to believe that little miracle preemie is now 21! From the moment you entered this world, you’ve been a fighter, and today you are healthy, happy, brilliant, beautiful, outgoing, confident, and so ambitious.

Watching you become the young woman you are today has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I don’t just love you ♥️♥️♥️I admire and respect the woman you’re becoming, and I’m beyond proud to be your mommy. No matter how old you get or how far life takes you, you will ALWAYS be my baby🥹❤️

Happy 21st, Sami! I love you more than words could EVER say!! by @dnowell_edits

Lights, Camera, Post Production! 🎬✨

Post in Black had an amazing time hosting this panel at Black Girls Film Camp in Atlanta in May! The amazing team with @blackgirlsfilmcamp invited us back and we were so grateful for the opportunity to share!

Our panel featured composer @emmolei, editors @dnowell_edits and @gladysgedeh!

They shared their journeys, dropped some industry gems and showed this wonderful cohort the there is power and space in post for US!

Thank you to @sierrasdavis and @jimmeka_anderson for including Post In Black in this year's group! We are so inspired by the stories these girls and young women are bringing to life! ✨🍿

Shoutout to our very own @tatianamjohnson for holding it down and moderating everything for us in the A!

Congratulations to all the winners at the American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards!!! 🏆✨

I had such an amazing time last night. There is nothing like being in a room full of brilliant editors and creatives who truly understand the power of the cut. I was so wrapped up in the moment reconnecting with people I haven’t seen in a while and meeting new faces ✨🌟that I forgot to take more pictures lol.

And listen… I love me some Law & Order 🙌🏾🙌🏾so one of the biggest highlights of the night was seeing @merk2577 Mariska Hargitay, and @chris_meloni in the building. Iconic!

What a beautiful night celebrating the craft and the community. 🎬✨ @acefilmeditors taken in Los Angeles, California by @dnowell_edits
