Dear Dad, I couldn’t say this then, but I want to say it now. Not a day goes by that I don’t want to hug your big head or pull your cheeks. Not a day goes by that I don’t want to hold your hand or talk to you. Not a day goes by that I don’t want to see your smile. You were gone too soon, Dad, but you accomplished so much and truly lived your best life. And now, you’re living even better than any of us on earth—because you’re with our Heavenly Father. I have found peace and understanding in knowing that you are no longer suffering, no more pain. They say, “A sailor’s true home is not the land, but the sea—and when their voyage is over, they sail on to eternal shores.” I take comfort in knowing you’ve answered your final call and are resting in calm waters. Thank you for choosing me to be your daughter. Thank you for making me the woman I am today. I am so blessed and grateful to have had you as my father. I miss you more than words can express, and I will continue to build the legacy you placed before me. To the light you go. Love you always, Daddy.
