Casimir was born earlier this morning at 2:02am weighing in at 7lbs 7oz. Jess and Baby Boy are doing so so good! 😊 My heart is overflowing with gratitude!

Casimir’s name means: proclaimer (preacher) of peace. Before we knew we were pregnant, Jess and I believed through prayer that our 3rd child would be a man of peace. Jesus is our Prince of Peace and through Him, we believe Casimir will do things for The Lord and His Church beyond our understanding. by @docepting

When I was 17 years old at a conference similar to @axisconference, I answered the call to follow Jesus and dedicate my life to serve His Church. Not a minute goes by that I ever doubted or regretted that decision. Jesus has given me life, hope, and purpose.

Nothing thrills me more than to continue to play small rolls within the Church to help a young person reach that same moment with Jesus for themselves like I did. To find Jesus and to acknowledge that He is the only way, the only truth, and the only life worth pursuing. I pray that these moments will forever impact their future and their families future.

To my pastor @johnnylhill, thank you for your leadership, friendship and constant pastoral care over me. The team wouldn’t be where it is today without you.

Lastly a huge thank you to my wife, @jessolivemusic! Not only did she volunteer behind the scenes but also watched over the kids while I was in and out of rehearsals and worship. All while pregnant with our 3rd child! :) She’s the best!

Alaska 🏔️

Wow. This state was incredible to explore! It quickly became a favorite as soon as the wildlife and mountains were in view. The best word I could use to describe Alaska is “Majestic” and I believe is rightfully earned.

Time was limited and the sites and memories we captured are irreplaceable. I’m left humbled, filled with gratitude, and ready to explore more of God’s creation. Gideon was very sad to leave and really wanted to stay, which is a good sign for a great trip! I hope he is able to remember these moments together.

Here are a few of my favorites from the trip (kept a few for myself). They do not represent what we actually saw. The real thing just has to be experienced in person and it’s worth it! I totally recommend the trip to Alaska! The weather in July was pretty much perfect. Couldn’t have had asked for a better trip :) taken in Alaska by @docepting

Gideon very quickly learned how to ride a bike! It really took me by surprise because I didn’t know what to expect. He completely skipped the training wheels and went straight for the real thing! Proud of this kid by @docepting

My heart is full of gratitude. It was such an honor to play a small part in @axisconference this year. To witness The Holy Spirit move in the most powerful ways and hearing the voices of 2000+ students respond in worship was so humbling.

Thankful for a church like @thelifechurchmemphis who invests and believes in the Next-Generation. We are always praying for them and believing God can and will do incredible things through them for His glory and move His Church forward.

The one with Gideon in 2022

Gideon David Epting, my first born. I am so proud of this dear kid. He is so special in so many ways. He is kind and artistic. He is passionate, loving and feels emotions so deeply. Not kidding, this kid tells me that he loves me almost every hour! I can already see a great leader in him, even though he doesn’t quite believe that just yet. Everything is a process. :)

In 2022, we have loved watching God lead Gideon and develop him. Gideon got to play soccer, showed some interest in drums and violin, showed us his awesome math skills, and impressing us with his building skills. Maybe I am being a little dramatic but the way he is able to build anything from his magni-tile sets just from a picture at his age is super cool! How detailed and exact he is shows the expertise and craftsmanship in him and the desire to do it right.

God has used Gideon so much in the last year to teach me and show more and more of His heart. I’m thankful every day for this. It’s a perspective that’s just for me. I love how God will chose perfect moments to reveal a little more of Himself each day and to use my son is pretty incredible. I am so grateful to be Gideon’s Dad and there is no better ministry than to shepherd my son towards The Lord as He establishes Gideons footsteps. by @docepting
