We were delighted to attend @irishredcross Annual IHL Conference "Championing International Humanitarian Law at the European Union and beyond" at Europe House today. Our CEO Jane-Ann McKenna spoke on a panel "Ireland’s role as a champion of IHL." Irish Red Cross also launched their project 'Voices for Humanity in Conflict: Ireland and the EU’s role in upholding International Humanitarian Law'. This innovative project received €7,500 as part of Dóchas' EU Presidency Citizen Engagement Sub-Grant. This initiative delivers new evidence on public understanding of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and attitudes toward Ireland and the EU's role in promoting its respect. Through a national survey, the project captures citizen perspectives to inform policymakers, NGOs, and political leaders on IHL compliance. The campaign will share key findings while championing core humanitarian values in times of conflict. by @dochasnetwork

Not through dominance, but by building coalitions, not by imposing power, but by sharing it. Our values could be Ireland's superpower if we're willing to really live them ourselves and put the mirror up to ourselves."
