Don’t sleep on the Propofol.

Approx. 139 Black medical students matched into Anesthesiology in 2026. That’s 6.4% of the cohort.

Progress is being made but the gap is still real.

Black anesthesiologists make up only about 3% to 5.3% of the workforce despite representing over 15% of the population.

This is what growth with a ceiling looks like.

We’re moving forward but not fast enough.

Representation matters.

Welp… definitely not something you see every day 👀.

That’s a laryngeal mask airway (LMA). It sits above the vocal cords to keep patients breathing safely under general anesthesia. Don’t worry, it comes out before you’re wide awake.
