We bumped into Chuck at the pub, started chatting to him about tattoos and it turns out he’s an original member of Les Skuse’s Bristol tattoo club from the 1950s! Chuck was tattooed by Les in around 1957-58, after I took these images he came in the shop with his original membership certificate and photos of him from the time, too cool! If you’re interested in learning more about the Skuse family and the BTC, @jimmie_tatts is working on what is probably the best tattoo history book I’ve ever seen that will be all about the history of tattooing in Bristol so keep your eyes peeled for that, it will be an essential purchase for any tattoo historian!

I met Terry while I was doing some work delivering parcels, had to go back and get some pics of his tattoos! Terry got his forearms tattooed by Billy Knight at Barry island in early 60s and then his hands by someone called Brown at Cefn fforest, any more info on Mr Brown would be great.
