One of the unexpected rewards of sharing “Still in Use” has been hearing how. The project resonated with other photographers. When I read this comment, I realized they weren’t responding to just one photograph. They were responding to the idea of staying with one place long enough for its story to unfold. For eight years, I returned to the same piece of land. Along the way, I learned about it’s history as a former oil tank farm, the families who once lived at Ujima Village, the child care center, environmental remediation, and the many ways this place continues to be used today These images are only a small part of that journey. #magicjohnsonpark#stillinuse#watts#environmentalphotojournalism#willowbrookca by @docs_projects_la
