I’m honored to represent @susangkomen as I join this esteemed group of panelists in a discussion focused on women’s health and real health issues impacting Black women. If you’re in Washington, DC on October 17th for Howard University’s Homecoming, stop by the Alumni Tent - learn how you be part of the solution.

Leah & I have the best roadtrips, but this one did not disappoint!!
THE.BEST.WEEKEND!!

💕I wore my Komen Giving Tee for the first time. This innovative t-shirt has a chip in the sleeve so anyone can tap their phone to my sleeve to donate directly to Komen! Message me to learn more!

🫶🏾Enjoyed “the brunch divided” with Leah, DJ, and Konner. We agreed to disagree that OSU is the better school! 🧡

And then….
🏈 OSU Cowboys got the win! (no pic needed)

👑 Spent the remainder of the day and evening with Miss America, Regan Hutsell - she’s the sweetest person, she has the most genuine personality, and she is the most talented dancer ever!! She’s the real deal! We also met the new Miss Texas, Stephanie Wendt, who was officially crowned since Regan won Miss America.

Time well spent in Texas! Oh yeah….I think the other team won their game too😉 by @docsonjah

Tonight is so bittersweet….Leah crowns a new Miss Queen of the West. It has been an awesome year with the best team! Abigail E. Luna, Dena Chitwood, Chuck, and Macy - you all were EXACTLY who Leah needed at this point of her Miss Oklahoma journey. Each prayer, phone call, text, and word of encouragement came at the right time. Thank you from the Hughes Family!🫶🏾 by @docsonjah

She’s going back to Miss Oklahoma! Introducing Miss Oklahoma State Fair 2027, Leah Hughes! Congratulations to the entire Miss Oklahoma State Fair and Miss Bricktown 2027 titleholders:

Miss Oklahoma State Fair’s Teen - LaceyAnn Lake
Miss Bricktown - Taylor Bishop
Miss Bricktown’s Teen - Sasha Buster

A special thank you to Lauren Frost Perry, Miss Oklahoma 2024, and her family for sponsoring the Talent winner awards. Leah was fortunate to win the award that included a beautiful trophy and a cash scholarship.

The Oklahoma State Fair Modern Living stage holds such a special place in our hearts:

-September 2019 Leah won her first Teen title on this stage Miss Moore-Norman’s Outstanding Teen 2020
-September 2022 Leah won her last Teen title on this stage Miss Oklahoma State Fair’s Teen 2023

This year will be special as I support Leah, one more time, on her quest to become Miss Oklahoma. Of course I’m thrilled that she will continue this journey with the incomparable Miss Oklahoma State Fair/Miss Bricktown Organization and Board!

To God be the glory!🙏🏾🧡🫶🏾

What a beautiful Leadership Luncheon hosted by the Susan G. Komen Greater Fort Worth team promoting the More Than Pink walk October 3rd. We are so grateful to have Janie and Jimmy Shoppa as the 2026 Walk Chairs. The amazing icon, Joan Katz, shared her story and how Komen has been there for every step of her breast cancer journey. Dr. Isaac Chan explained how his amazing research lab is discovering breakthroughs everyday, largely due to funding from Komen! As always, the dynamic Deborah Ferguson NBC5 was on the scene ready to make the call to action! Let’s go Fort Worth!!! With your help, one day we WILL have a world where no one dies from breast cancer!

@russwest44 was a special guest and featured participant at the 32nd annual Oklahoma City Heart Ball on February 23, 2013. There was a line of people waiting to get his autograph when he looked up and beckoned @leahhughess to cut the line and say hello. He was so gracious and allowed me to get this picture. The picture quality is poor, but this special moment will forever be etched perfectly in my memory.

Russ - congratulations on a spectacular career, and thank you for investing your time and resources in the children and economy of Oklahoma City! by @docsonjah
