This morning during breakfast BJ and I shared a very special moment.

In preparation for his first playoff game, I asked him was he ready. BJ said “you know dad, no I’m not. I don’t feel to good about this one. I feel we’re going to loose.” I asked him what led him to those feelings. He shared that he felt that way because he didn’t get to practice this week.

I informed him that he could still do an excellent job by simply focusing on his past moments and perfect those, instead of trying to learn something new. Though practice is important if you don’t have the key element of “FOCUS” then it’s all in vein.

Nevertheless they won their first playoff game. I’m so proud of this young man!!

Our baby boy, Jaiden! 💚🩵

Son, you came into our lives and completed our family in a way only God could have planned. You are our unexpected blessing, our little joy, and the sweetest reminder that God still has the BEST in store for us. I almost outgrew the seasons of waiting, many moments of doubt, many tears sown and quiet sacrifices that no one saw. There were many times I didn’t understand the process, but in the background God was preparing me through every challenge.

On July 23, 2026 I offically accepted the promotion to Assistant Director of Student Success and Academic Support at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. I’m excited to continue the important work of ensuring students have a place to belong, grow, lead and transform. I’m grateful for this promotion, but even more grateful for the God who sustained me, opened doors only HE could open. There’s so much I could say but I’ll end with Proverbs 16:3.
