Recent Research published in the Journal of Oral Medicine and Dental Research suggests that covid 19 enters the body through upper airways ( nose and mouth) collects in saliva, enters the plaque under the gums crosses the blood vessels travels to the arteries in the lungs. Gum diseases makes the gums leakier, allowing the virus to enter the bloodstream.

Saliva contains heavy viral load but plaque forms a protective shield for many virus and microbes to survive and prosper.

We need to break this Plaque Build up so that severity and the spread of the disease can be reduced! Above are the simple oral hygiene measures one can follow as a preventive measure to reduce the severity and transmission of Covid 19. Let's flatten this curve together!

When you are in Dental school, you practice dentistry for fixed number of hours, you have weekends to yourself to relax and get ready for the coming week.

Unfortunately, the work culture in our country is so competitive that, most of the private clinics won't even have weekends off. And as a fresher, you will get sucked into this loop of working all day, with Dentistry being the only thing running in your mind.

The transition is so drastic that sometimes you might even find yourself wondering, are you even in the right profession.

If you are feeling that way, that's normal, even I felt it. But if you genuinely like the field, you will eventually find a way to balance things out. But it will be definitely not easy in the beginning.

That being said, no profession is easy or perfect, there is hardwork, patience, uncertainty everywhere. All we have to be is consistent with whatever we decide to do.
