Fireworks AND the Northern Lights… from my balcony? 🎆🌌🏡 If someone had told me this 15 years ago, I would have said, “Come on, don’t exaggerate!” 😂✨

Watching the Northern Lights is a feeling that’s so hard to put into words. 💚💜 You can almost feel their energy. They float across the sky as if they have somewhere to go, dancing in beautiful colours and making you forget the world around you. 🌌💫🥹

I used to search for the best viewing spots, jump in the car and chase them. 🚗🔍🌠 Now, I think I’ve become a little too used to this magic… 😅🙈 But I still watch with excitement every time! 💚🤩

Just one of the perks of living up north, or, as I like to call it, practically at the North Pole! 😂❄️📍

An Italian evening with my little bestie at iL FORNO! 👩‍👧🇮🇹🍕 Our little Italian food adventures are becoming quite famous! 🤭❤️

We ordered tagliatelle with meat sauce and a spicy salami pizza. 🍝🌶️ The portions were HUGE! Even though we arrived hungry after work and school, we couldn’t finish everything. 😅

The place made me feel like I was in an Italian restaurant in New York. 🗽🇮🇹 I have a theory: some of the best Italian food is in New York… just like those next-level döner kebabs in Berlin! 🤣🥙

The pizza oven is right inside, so we enjoyed our meal while watching the chef at work. 👨‍🍳🔥 Such a lovely atmosphere! And it’s warm in every sense, probably thanks to that oven. My tip: wear something light! 😂👚

I didn’t get to try the Italian wines this time, but the birra wasn’t bad! 🍺😉

And the biggest surprise? When we thanked the chef in English, he answered us in Turkish! 🇹🇷😄 Of course! That beautifully thin, delicious pizza dough suddenly made perfect sense. 👏🍕 I almost asked, “Could you make us a lahmacun too?” Holding myself back took serious effort! 🤣🙈

The prices were reasonable for a city-centre restaurant, especially considering those generous portions. 💸👌 And the central location is another big plus! 📍✨

We’ll definitely be back, and next time, we’re claiming one of those tables with the red-and-white checked tablecloths! ❤️🤍🍕

In autumn, Estonia turns into a colourful fairy-tale land, perfect for a road trip. 🇪🇪🚗🍂✨

Along the roads, huge trees with yellow, orange, red and green leaves welcome you like a warm hug. 💛🧡❤️💚🌳 Above them, the blue sky seems to go on forever. ☀️💙

The days are getting shorter now, and these are the last few weeks to enjoy autumn’s beautiful colours. 🍁⏳ Time to slow down, take the scenic road and hold on to these golden moments a little longer… 🥹🍂🤍

Today’s family adventure: Rakvere! 🚗👨‍👩‍👧🍂

First surprise: that famous bull is HUGE! 🐂😳 I expected a statue… not a personal trainer’s final form! 😂 Known as Tarvas, this impressive bronze giant certainly knows how to steal the show. 📸✨

The castle was closed, so our medieval adventure stayed outside the walls. 🏰🔒 Its first stone fortifications were built by the Danes in the 1200s, on the site of an older Estonian stronghold. Later, the Livonian Order took over. These walls have seen far more drama than any Netflix series! ⚔️👑😅

Today, Rakvere is a small regional centre with around 15,000 residents, about 100 km from Tallinn. Small city, big bull, plenty of history! 🏘️🐂📚

We also visited the Turkish memorial at Tõrma Cemetery and paid our respects as a family. 🇹🇷🕊️ It remembers Ottoman soldiers who were brought to Estonia as prisoners during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878 and died far from home.

History can be painfully cruel and unfair. 🤍 The memorial was clean and carefully maintained, and seeing our Turkish flag here in Estonia was deeply moving. May they rest in peace. 🇹🇷🙏

Then came apple and berry picking, lovely Estonian houses, and another round of falling in love with this country. 🍎🫐🏡🇪🇪 Apparently, once was not enough! 🥰

Autumn is putting on a beautiful show: yellow, orange and red leaves everywhere, with some already floating to the ground. 🍁🍂 The trees are changing outfits faster than I do! 😂🧣

Beautiful weather, lovely roads and precious family time. A short trip, but so many memories. 🚗☀️❤️

Estonia, you’ve done it again! 🇪🇪✨

Marilyn had her pink dress. I had a diamond class. Same sparkle, slightly different evening! 🩷💎😉

Tonight, I attended a jewellery workshop at E-Jewels in Rotermanni, Tallinn. ✨ I’ve loved precious stones since childhood, so much that I named my kid, the Turkish word for turquoise! 🩵🇹🇷

We explored the 4Cs: cut, colour, clarity and carat. 💎 My takeaway? Size isn’t everything—clarity deserves attention too! Apparently, “the bigger, the better” is not a complete shopping strategy. 😂🔍

The most exciting news? Custom jewellery can be made right here in Tallinn! 💍 I’ve wanted to design my own solitaire ring for years, and now that dream feels a little closer. My imagination is delighted… my wallet may need a moment. 🫣💸

We also learned about diamond care. I knew some basics, but now I’m ready to take even better care of my sparkling babies! 🛁✨ Even diamonds need a little love. 🤍

Thank you for such a lovely and informative evening! The diamond world is even more fascinating, and tempting,than I imagined. 🥂💎

I think I’ve found my place for diamonds in Tallinn… and then there are the watches and Hermès! Someone please supervise my next visit. ⌚👜😂

Autumn looks so good on Nõmme! 🍂🧡

Today, my girl gang and I wandered past beautiful old houses, leafy parks, and streets painted yellow, orange, and red by trees. Every corner looked like a postcard. 🍁🏡📸

A little Nõmme history: it began as a summer retreat for Tallinn residents in the late 19th century, thanks to the railway. It even used to be a town of its own! 🚂🌲 Baron Nikolai von Glehn, who helped shape the area, had quite an imagination: his castle grounds include stone sculptures of a crocodile and the Estonian hero Kalevipoeg. 🐊🏰

And then came my newest Estonian discovery: a pagar where you queue for the pastries and hope your favourites haven’t sold out before you reach the counter! 🥐😄 Worth the wait? Absolutely. ✨

Nõmme, you’re especially picturesque in autumn. 🍂❤️

☹️🇪🇪👩🏻‍⚕️🥼Estonia doesn’t seem as used to welcoming doctors from abroad as many larger European countries. With fewer applications, there is still a lot of uncertainty around the recognition of foreign medical qualifications.🙄

We had a lovely and fruitful meeting with fellow doctors I met at an entrepreneurship event organised by @settleinestonia . We discussed the challenges of medical recognition, the areas where we feel the system needs to improve, and the limited research and PhD opportunities. Some of the university programmes available also fall short of our expectations👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻🎓🏫👩🏻‍🎓

I sometimes wonder whether the country’s Soviet past has contributed to an attitude of “we can manage with fewer doctors.” Perhaps this partly explains the long waiting times and the limited efforts to attract doctors from abroad. I was particularly surprised to hear that there might not be a single public epilepsy surgery centre in the country😒🧠

These conversations made me appreciate the healthcare resources we have in Türkiye even more🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷. Both the medical equipment and the training and clinical experience of Turkish doctors are of a very high standard😏😎. I say this as someone who has spent time at Charité in Berlin and King’s College London.😌👩🏻‍⚕️🩺

I was already confused about the recognition process, and now I have even more questions! Let’s see what the coming days bring😒

Still, I feel very lucky to share this journey with such cheerful and fun colleagues. I hope our group keeps growing and that, with time, we find clearer answers together. 💛 @karmokarjyotirmoyee @somno_sonya

🎾🇪🇪 Estonia is truly a tennis-loving country!

Tallinn has many modern indoor courts, which means you can keep playing even during the long, cold winter months. ❄️ Places such as the Tallink Tennis keskus, FORUS Tennis Centre and Audentes offer excellent facilities for both beginners and experienced players. 🏟️

Estonia may be a small country, but it has produced remarkable tennis stars. 🌟 Anett Kontaveit reached World No. 2 and became the highest-ranked Estonian tennis player in history. Kaia Kanepi also had an impressive career, reaching the quarterfinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments. What an achievement! 👏🔥

Tallinn even hosted a WTA 250 tournament in 2022, while national championships, junior competitions and club tournaments continue to keep the Estonian tennis community active. 🇪🇪🏆

Tennis is beautiful and exciting to watch, but much harder to play than it looks! 😅 You need speed, balance, concentration and, apparently, a very good relationship with the ball. 🎾😂 Luckily, I have an amazing coach, so I am in good hands! 🙌 @artur.kontus 💪🏻

For now, I’m enjoying tennis as an amateur player and following the local tennis scene with great interest. Let’s see where this journey takes me! 🎾💪✨

Estonians really do love getting their hands in the soil! 🌱🇪🇪 Almost everyone seems to grow tomatoes, peppers or herbs,at home, in an allotment, or in special gardening areas provided by the municipality. 🍅🌶️🥬

Our apartment complex even has lovely glass-covered winter gardens for residents, but unfortunately, there were no spaces left for me. So here I am, growing my own supplies at home! 👩🏻‍🌾🪴😂

Just imagine what Estonia could produce if it had a little more sunshine! ☀️ We would probably never need to visit a supermarket again. But the weather mainly says: “Best I can do is apples.” 🍏🍎🤣

I have already told you about Estonia’s apple madness. To borrow the legendary Turkish uncle style:
“Back in Anatolia, these lands were all mulberry orchards… but here, my dear nephew, they were all apple orchards!” 😂🍎🌳

Today’s mighty harvest: one tiny tomato, two brave peppers and enough basil for approximately half a salad. Farm-to-table, but the farm is my living room! 🌿🍅🌶️😄
