I’m back 🎹 by @doctorlifted

Looking through all these old show posters really reminded me how special the 2010s were for American reggae. There were so many bands, so many shows, and it felt like there was a real community around the music with people of all ages involved.

What stands out to me the most is how different everyone sounded. Sure, it wasn’t always traditional roots reggae, but I think that was part of what made the era so interesting. Bands were pulling influence from rock, punk, hip-hop, pop and dub, and trying to create something that felt like their own.

There was just a lot of experimentation and creativity happening at the same time.

Looking back now, it really does feel like a special chapter in American reggae.

Do you think the 2010s were a golden era for American reggae music? by @doctorlifted

I truly believe the next 5 years are going to be something special for live reggae music. I think we’re going to see a resurgence in live music as more people start craving real connection and real experiences. There’s something about being in a room full of people experiencing music together that simply can’t be replicated through a screen. I’m excited for what’s ahead, not just for reggae, but for live music as a whole. by @doctorlifted

The best part about reggae music is that I’m constantly the student. I love learning and discovering new sounds and vibrations. It’s taking me 13 years to get here and I’m just finally starting to like the sound I’m producing. by @doctorlifted

Doctor Lifted back in 2023. Was making reggae remixes just for the fun and love of it. No clout, no likes, nothing. Just pure love of being creative. by @doctorlifted
