Here are the close up before and after photos of yesterday’s post that reviewed the temporary veneer design process.

This also happens to be one of my favorite male smile upgrades with porcelain veneers.

Temporary veneers represent a crucial step in the veneer design process.
I discuss design goals with patients and then create 3D printed veneer design models. Those design models are transferred to the mouth in the form of acrylic temporary veneers.
Once in the mouth, I hand shape, contour and polish the temporary veneers. This is the artistic part of the veneer design process. The temporary veneers allow my patient to see the new shape, size, and color of their smile. We discuss the design and order porcelain veneers.
For minimal prep and traditional veneers and crowns, the temporary veneers are worn for 2-3 weeks.
For no prep and near-no-prep veneers, they are only worn for 1 day to evaluate the design.

My two main goals when designing veneers:

First, to create a set of teeth that looks like it absolutely belongs to this face, these lips, and this smile — and no one else’s.

And second, to create a smile someone loves so much that smiling becomes effortless.

I think we achieved both for my beautiful patient. ❤️

She was debating between 4 and 8 veneers. Ultimately she decided on 8 veneers to allow her to have a brighter smile overall.
This was a Near No-Prep smile make over. I adjusted her gumline and removed old bonding from a front tooth. Some slight tooth contouring for the other teeth and then the veneers were placed.
No-Prep and Near No-Prep veneers are an option if doing 8 or more veneers.

If you would like to see if you are a candidate for No-Prep or Near No-Prep veneers, click the link in my bio for a veneer video consultation.

A simple smile makeover with 8 minimal prep veneers for a patient who wanted to preserve as much tooth structure as possible, and achieve a natural result with a color that matches her lower teeth.
I love to detailed edge translucency and the softer tooth shape of her new smile.

Think of temporary veneers as a trial smile—and an essential part of the porcelain veneer design process. They can be tweaked and modified to get the smile design just right.

Temporaries are an acrylic version of your planned veneers that allow us to test the size, shape, proportions, and even the color of your new smile in your actual face.

They’re also an incredibly valuable communication tool for my dental lab, giving them a blueprint for creating the final porcelain veneers.

And one important clarification: temporary veneers are not a permanent treatment option. I get asked this all the time! They’re made from acrylic and are specifically designed to be worn for a short period during the design and fabrication process.

Well-done temporaries help eliminate surprises and give my patients confidence that they’re going to love their final smile.

Design it. Test it. Perfect it. Then recreate it in porcelain.

This is an elegant smile upgrade for a patient who has nice teeth, but wanted to add brightness and symmetry to her smile. I love the natural yet elevated result we achieved with minimal preparation feldspathic veneers.

Another beautiful smile upgrade ✨

We replaced her older porcelain veneers with a more vibrant, natural design while also improving the gum shape to create better balance and symmetry.

She loves her beautiful new smile—and the compliments have already started!
