Today the world lost Dolly Parton

People knew her rhinestones, the songs, and that laugh you could hear from across a room. I got to know something else: how she treated people when nobody was writing it down. Dolly was one of the kindest people I have ever met, and a true jewel to work with. She made everybody in the room feel like they mattered, the stars, the crew, the folks no one bothered to speak to.

She stood with Black people when it wasn't convenient, when it cost her something, and when plenty of folks around her wished she wouldn't. She never flinched. That takes a kind of courage most people only talk about.

I'm grateful for every moment shared. The conversations, the laughs, the work. I'll treasure all of it.
Rest easy, Dolly. You gave the world more than a star to love. by @docwittus

There is no easy way to do this but, it must be said. I thought long and hard before expressing my thought. “Clive Davis’ impact on modern music is undeniable, and I want to acknowledge his passing and extend condolences to his family and to the artists who are grieving someone they worked closely with. At the same time, I can't ignore my relationship with him and to his legacy which is complicated: the extraordinary success he built was deeply tied to Black artists and Black music, yet it existed within an industry structure that too often enriched executives while leaving many of those artists underpaid, underprotected, and vulnerable when their careers or lives took difficult turns. I honor the music that shaped my life, but I also think it’s important not to romanticize a system in which a powerful white gatekeeper could profit so heavily from Black creativity while so many Black musicians struggled with exploitative deals and limited ownership of their work. So I recognize him as a brilliant businessman whose decisions helped bring Black music to the center of global culture, and I also recognize that his story is inseparable from the broader history of how Black artists have been used and exploited by the music industry.” by @docwittus

To my amazing sisters on Mother’s Day,
From the very beginning of my life, you have been my protectors, my role models, and my best friends. You stepped in, showed up, and stood by me in ways that I will never forget and can never fully repay. Because of you, I never had to face this world alone.
Watching the way you love and care for your children, I see the same strength, patience, and kindness you always showed me. You are incredible mothers, and I’m so proud of the women you’ve become. Your kids are blessed to have you, and I’m just as blessed to call you my sisters.
Thank you for every late-night talk, every word of encouragement, every time you believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. Thank you for being my family, my safe place, and my forever support system.
I love you more than I can say.
Happy Mother’s Day to the best sisters and moms I know. by @docwittus

A Farewell to a Giant Who Built Stages for Dreams 🖤✨
This past Monday, we gathered at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre to celebrate a man who gave everything to Black theater and asked for nothing but our best. Woodie King Jr. (July 27, 1937 - January 29, 2026) wasn't just a theater director—he was the Godfather of Black Theater, a visionary who built platforms where dreams could take flight.
In 1970, Woodie founded New Federal Theatre with a mission that changed lives: to integrate artists of color and women into mainstream theater by giving them the training, the space, and most importantly, the belief that they belonged. Through his dedication, he produced over 400 plays and launched the careers of some of our most beloved actors—Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Chadwick Boseman, Debbie Allen, Phylicia Rashad, and countless others found their voices on his stages.
As Pauletta Washington, LaTanya Jackson, and Denzel Washington spoke, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. We wept not just in grief, but in gratitude for a man who saw potential where others saw barriers, who demanded excellence because he knew we had it within us, who never stopped fighting for us to have our rightful place in American theater.
Yes, it's hard to say goodbye to yesterday. But Woodie's life-long dedication lives on through every performance given, every story we tell, every young artist we mentor. His legacy isn't just in the hundreds of plays he brought to life—it's in us, in the culture he helped shape, in the doors he kicked open that will never close again.

Let's continue to support his efforts. Let's honor him by being our best. That's all he ever asked for.
Rest in power, Woodie King Jr. Your stage will never go dark. by @docwittus

To Prince,
on this day, April 21, I’m reminded that the world lost one of its greatest musical geniuses, but your light has never stopped shining.

I was blessed to cross paths with you years ago, when you were recording “Damn U”, and I had no idea then how deeply that moment—and the lessons that followed—would shape my life forever. You didn’t just share music; you shared wisdom about the music and entertainment industry, about artistry, integrity, and owning your vision, and those lessons changed how I see everything.

I will always remember how much you did for so many people, often quietly, humbly, and without ever asking for anything in return. Your generosity, your courage to stand up for artists’ freedom and ownership, and your refusal to compromise who you were continue to inspire me every single day.

Thank you for the doors you opened, the truths you shared, and the example you set. I carry what I learned from you into every room I walk into, every decision I make, and every dream I dare to chase. Because of you, I know that it’s possible to be brilliant, independent, and completely yourself in a world that always tries to make you smaller.

I will always remember you, always honor what you stood for, and always be grateful—for your music, your guidance, and your spirit that still lives on in all of us you touched. You gave the world so much and asked for nothing in return, and I will never stop appreciating you for that.

Thank you, Prince. Your legacy lives in my heart, in my choices, and in the music and lives you changed forever. by @docwittus

Entering this new year, the deepest feeling in my heart is honor—honor that I get to walk this stretch of life’s road with you. Every season reminds me that what matters most is not what we gain, but who we get to share it with, and your presence has been the clearest proof that I am already rich in all the ways that count.

James Baldwin wrote, “The longer I live, the more deeply I learn that love—whether we call it friendship or family or romance—is the work of mirroring each other’s light.” Each of you has done that for me in ways big and small: reflecting back to me strength when I felt weak, joy when I was tired, and hope when the world felt heavy. In our best moments we have been that mirror for one another, quietly reminding each other of the light we carry when we temporarily lose sight of it ourselves.

As this new year begins, my prayer and intention are simple: that we keep choosing what truly matters—showing up for one another, telling the truth in love, forgiving quickly, laughing loudly, and holding space for each other’s dreams and wounds. I am genuinely excited to see what adventures, challenges, and unexpected blessings will meet us in the months ahead, because I know whatever comes, facing it together will turn it into something meaningful. May we continue to magnify each other’s light and write another year of stories we will be proud to tell. by @docwittus

I am so proud to announce: Top Secret: The Foreclosure File is now in production as a powerful new documentary, The Dark Side of the Scale, based on the Amazon Best New Seller book.

This film pulls back the curtain on how banks, politicians, courts, and law firms really move in foreclosure cases—and what that means for every homeowner in an America increasingly tilted toward the wealthy.

If you’ve ever wondered whether the system is fair, or you want to be ready to help a friend or family member before it’s too late, this is the story you can’t afford to miss. by @docwittus

Thank you for making my book a Amazon Best New Seller on the debut of Top Secret: The Foreclosure File.

This is not just another foreclosure book. It’s a real‑life legal thriller and the world’s first interactive foreclosure learning guide—paired with online classes and quizzes—so anyone can understand “legal talk” and use it.

Dr. Wittenberg walks you through how banks, attorneys, and courts really move, how judicial and non‑judicial foreclosures work, and how to spot tricks like word‑smithing, fake urgency, and rushed sales.

Anchored in the Bible, it shows why “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” and how truth can make you free—spiritually and in court.

Even if you’re not in foreclosure, someone you love will be. This book and its classes are designed to level the playing field so ordinary families are no longer easy prey. by @docwittus
