From the beautiful Devon coastline to canvas 🌊🎨

Inspired by the hidden coves, turquoise waters and rugged rocks of the Devon coast, this painting captures a little slice of summer from above. ☀️

I love watching a painting come to life, starting with a simple pencil sketch, building up the beautiful colours of the sea, then adding all those tiny details that tell a story.

There’s something magical about looking down on a little beach scene, imagining the people enjoying a perfect day by the sea. 🩵

A little piece of Devon to bring the feeling of summer into your home.

Wild Art by Carrie 🐚. This painting will be coming to the @doddiartshow with me tomorrow. Pop along and see me .

Its competition time!
Win 2 tickets, wine/beer and a plate of yummy savoury nibbles. We are excited to share our new events programme with you, Devon as inspiration is our first talk in the series and it is shaping up to be a wonderful evening. Co-hosted by artist Matt Calder and Curator Lucy Malone, hear from five of our exhibiting artists: Francesca Dawson, David Morgan, Marie Rose, Rachael Bennett and Mandi Street how Devon has influenced their art. A night of discussion, and exploration we consider what it is about Devon that draws so many artists here, and inspires so much creativity? From the tangible, physical environment and everyday experience, to the more emotional realms of memory and feeling, and the magic of the imagination.

There will be a discussion, with a Q&A welcoming questions from the audience, alongside a bar with great wine (thank you Smiths Wines, Exeter) and yummy savoury nibbles from Spoonful of Plenty.

Flower meadows, Devon gardens and a canvas full of colour. 🌸🎨

Introducing @jackie_reynolds_artist , whose mixed media paintings reflect her love of nature and the Devon countryside.

Her aim? To bring warmth, happiness and a sense of calm to those who enjoy her paintings.
