Shohei #Ohtani dominates in 6 scoreless innings, #DODGERS rout Diamondbacks 7-0 in front of 36,213 at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. #BeatAZ 💙⚾️🏆🏆👍 RECAP: PHOENIX (AP) — Shohei Ohtani threw six scoreless innings, Kyle Tucker hit a two-run homer into the Chase Field pool and the Los Angeles Dodgers routed the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-0 on Wednesday night.Ohtani (6-2) allowed two hits and struck out six while lowering his major league-best ERA to 0.74. He’s allowed one earned run in 24 innings during a four-game winning streak.Ohtani also hit three singles and reached base five times, scoring a run. Tucker hit his homer off Zac Gallen (3-5) in the second inning. Freddie Freeman added a two-run single in the third. Max Muncy followed with a run-scoring single and Alex Freeman’s two-run single in the seventh put the Dodgers up 7-0.Los Angeles had 16 hits to win for the 16th time in 19 games. The four-time MVP had a few control issues against the Diamondbacks as well.Ohtani sailed his first warmup pitch into a group of photographers at the backstop — he of course apologized — and almost hit three different batters in the first three innings.The right-hander was nearly unhittable when he did keep it around the plate.Ohtani didn’t allow a hit until Gabriel Moreno’s double over first base with two outs in the fourth inning and induced an inning-ending double play after Geraldo Perdomo’s single in the sixth.Ohtani threw 89 pitches and was lifted following the Dodgers’ long top half of the seventh inning. by @dodgerslakers

It was part of Freeman’s three-hit night.Ohtani was part of another offensive surge in the second, delivering a two-run triple to right that made it 4-0.Andy Pages added a sacrifice fly and Mookie Betts had an RBI single in the seventh to push L.A.’s advantage to 6-2.In the seventh, Nolan Arenado’s two-run double cut the deficit to 6-4 and Pavin Smith walked with the bases loaded to make it 6-5. Will Klein coaxed a groundout from rookie Tommy Troy to end the threat.Tanner Scott handled the ninth, working around a one-out single from Ildemaro Vargas, to earn his sixth save in seven chances.D-backs right-hander Mike Soroka settled down after a rough start, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. Wrobleski (7-2) struck out a career-high nine against no walks in seven innings. The 25-year-old left-hander struck out the side in the first — setting down big boppers Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper — and the fifth innings.In the sixth, Schwarber homered 411 feet to dead-center with two outs for the first hit and run off of Wrobleski in a rematch of last year’s National League Division Series. The Dodgers won 3-1 on the way to their second straight World Series championship.Tanner Scott retired the side in the ninth for his fifth save.The NL West-leading Dodgers won their sixth in a row for the first time since reeling off seven straight from April 26-May 3 last year.Freeman hit an opposite-field shot on the first pitch from Zack Wheeler (4-1) in the first. Muncy went deep in the second and Ohtani homered into the Phillies’ bullpen in right in the third. Smith made it 4-0 with his solo shot in the fifth.With retired three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw watching from the front row, Wrobleski’s only baserunner before Schwarber’s homer came on an error by right fielder Kyle Tucker in the fourth.Turner was safe at first and advanced to second on Tucker’s error. Ohtani (5-2) earned his third consecutive victory. He has yet to give up more than two runs in any of his nine starts this season. Ohtani has given up one or no earned runs in eight of his nine starts.Tanner Scott took over to start the eighth and allowed a two-out single to right by Tyler Freeman after Ohtani and Will Klein combined for seven hitless innings.Klein started the seventh and retired the side, helped by an inning-ending double play.Kyle Hurt pitched the ninth to earn his first major league save.Ohtani struck out seven and walked four. The Dodgers’ 15 runs tied a season high. They pounded out 17 hits and limited the Rockies to four until the ninth. That’s when Colorado scored five runs and had eight hits off position player Miguel Rojas, who came in to pitch. Betts got the home run derby going in the bottom of the first with a two-run, two-out shot off Freeland (1-6). The shortstop danced around second base and pumped his fist in a release of the offensive frustration he had been feeling while batting .165.Manager Dave Roberts had dropped Betts to fourth from second in the order.The Rockies closed to 2-1 on Hunter Goodman’s homer on Eric Lauer’s first pitch of the second. Catcher Brett Sullivan, who pitched the ninth, homered off Rojas and Kyle Karros, the son of former Dodger Eric Karros, added a three-run shot.It was all Dodgers after that.Lauer (2-5) got the win in his Dodgers debut.Hernández led off the third with his first homer of the season a night after making his season debut.
