POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For the longest time I’ve always thought with the perspective that if I am doing my best to obey God and do what He wants me to do, He will remove trials from my life or make them easier for me to bear

This scripture however teaches a different perspective

“The Lord did strengthen THEM” is not the same as “the Lord took away their trials”

God doesn’t wait for us to obey Him so that He can heal us, that defeats the purpose of personal growth and becoming stronger through Christ

I think that God really wants us to see and recognize that through following the example of Jesus Christ the best we ourselves can, He makes us stronger to overcome and endure our challenges ourselves

That is where the power of His sacrifice comes into play! It strengthens is to bear our burdens with ease

I don’t do my best to show the Lord why He should remove my trial, I do my best so that the Lord makes me strong enough to overcome it.

You are entitled to answers! Not to live in doubt

Some may say that it is okay to have doubts. I disagree

Heavenly Father wants all of His children to have clarity and understanding. Why would He ever let you live with doubt and fear

That is why He says “knock, and it shall be opened unto you”

It’s always okay to have questions, I certainly have them, but its not okay to let questions turn to doubts

I for one do not want to live a life of doubt and fear, and I don’t think a loving Father would want that for His children either

In His own way, the Lord will give you the clarity and answers you seek, as you continue to have faith in Him and do the spiritual work to seek those answers, whatever the doubt or fear may be

Don’t let the fiery darts of doubt and controversy silence you from testifying of an Infinite Atonement, of a Savior that made eternal life possible for us, and of a restoration of Priesthood authority and gospel teachings that fill our lives with joy!

While the many challenges in our lives can sometimes seem impossible to overcome, the scriptures tell us exactly what will happen if we endure faithfully!

“The Lord shall give thee rest”

Is there anything you want more other than rest?

The negative voices in your head go silent, your soul filled with peace, the satisfaction of enduring and overcoming your trials

These promises were foreseen years and years ago, so just because they haven’t come to pass yet doesn’t mean they won’t

And does God lie about His promises?

We don’t need to worry what will happen to us, we don’t need to worry that we will fail, because God has a plan for all of His faithful disciples

I know that when we continue to strive to do good and serve God despite the adversity and obstacles we face in life, we will, in the Lords own time and way, find rest

Most of us are familiar with the story of Jesus walking on water, and Peter doing the same

But have you ever thought of how profound Peter’s question to Jesus was?

Peter asks the Savior to help him do something impossible, to literally walk on water

I ask you to go to the lake or a pool and try to walk on the water

If there was a verse 28.5 I bet it would be about those on the ship with Peter considering the foolishness of such a question

But what is it that happens?

Peter, a man, not the Son of God, but a man born of earthly parents does the impossible, he walks on the water!

I believe that this story is more than just a metaphor of Jesus meeting us where we are, even when it’s on the water. I believe it’s more than just seeing Jesus perform a miracle

I believe this story proves to us that even we, fallen and sinful human beings, have the capability to do the impossible through Jesus Christ

If the Savior was able to help Peter walk on water, why couldn’t He help you walk on your own personal “water”

We are so distracted by the world around us, by our fears and anxieties, by our personal trials, and by sin and temptation, that we forget that Jesus can really make the impossible, possible for you and for me

If we strived to have the faith that Peter had, I could only imagine the miracles Jesus would perform in our lives

Just because He may let us experience a trial for our growth doesn’t mean He can’t and won’t perform miraculous miracles in our lives. Believe that!

The Book of Mormon - 1 Nephi 11:22-23

These scriptures teach plainly that the love that God has for us is the most desirable thing to our souls

How distracted to we often get trying to achieve satisfaction that comes from something worldly?

It can be as simple as a favorite hobby, for me right now it’s golf

But these verses remind me that the only true satisfaction that really matters in this life is knowing that God really does love me, and seeking that love from Him everyday!

His love for us is not dependent on our choices and mistakes, it’s simply always there, but when we don’t seek after it, we’ll never feel it

So as the scripture says, I invite you to seek Gods love, through praying to Him, reading your verses for the day, helping someone, or going to church

It is my testimony that as you do so, you will begin to feel His love for you more, and you will come to know that His love for you was always there ❤️ by @doehler_scriptures

Book of Mormon - 3 Nephi 21:10

This verse provides me a lot of comfort. During times when we might feel farther away from the Spirit, Jesus reminds us that when we are striving to serve Him, we are in His hands of divine, heavenly protection

We each have a deep desire to follow the footsteps of the Lord and live in the world, but not of it

We don’t need to be afraid to stand firm for what we believe, because it’s the ultimate source of lasting joy and happiness in this life, and forever ❤️ by @doehler_scriptures

Moses 1:12-13

In these verses, satan invites Moses to worship him, and Moses responds by challenging his glory and by staying true to worshipping God

We may sometimes think to ourselves, “I’ll never worship satan the way I worship God,” just like Moses, but maybe it’s important to consider what it means to worship

Satan wants us to doubt our identity, potential, and purpose by following him, so could it be that thinking negatively about ourselves is a way we let Satan win?

None of us is perfect but we are all our worst enemies sometimes, yet we have a Father in Heaven with glory who has ensured that we are HIS, and that our potential is INFINITE

You are not alone, and you are not who you are afraid to become, you are Gods child! We can worship Him by being positive and optimistic about ourselves even when it requires effort by @doehler_scriptures

Mormon 4:5

It’s important to remember that God is our greatest judge

He knows every single one of you and me inside and out perfectly

And he knows of all the choices we make in our lives

I know that when we choose wickedness and iniquity, that God will see our wickedness when we stand before Him at the judgement seat

So repentance is so so important

It’s one of our greatest blessings that when we take advantage of, will be blessed in so many ways

Repentance is not a punishment, it is a wonderful blessing from God by @doehler_scriptures

3 Nephi 21:1

When we choose to follow and seek Christ, we are like instruments in His hands

And we might think to ourselves, if I’m living a Christ like life, making Christ like choices everyday, then I should be happy and always have joy, right?

That’s not true

We are constantly being judged, criticized, made fun of for choosing to live a life filled with the joy of His gospel

But the knowledge we gain from Christs gospel is power

And that power will ALWAYS defeat the workings of the devil and the judgements that come from others

So keep enduring and keep having faith

And your enemies will never have power over you by @doehler_scriptures

I can speak for many that when people have questions or things to say about our faith, it’s usually about the things we “aren’t allowed” to do

But the truth is you and I have free agency which means we have the ability to do whatever we want

We are never forced to follow the “rules”

But when we are focused so intensely on the so called “rules” we think we have to follow, we lose sight of what’s truly the most important

Having a relationship with Christ and trusting Him

We all have certain questions and maybe even doubts about our church

But when you’re not putting all of your trust in Christ, how do you expect to get an answer?

Whatever doubts, questions, whatever it is you don’t understand

The answer is ALWAYS found in the life and teachings of Christ and His restored gospel

The more we focus on that, the more we’ll understand and be grateful for the “rules” /commandments God has given us to keep and follow by @doehler_scriptures

3 Nephi 17:7

I love this verse for its testament to Christs mercy to all who are I need of healing

The best part about His mercy is that it is extended to all that “are afflicted in any matter”

No matter our pains, no matter our trials, however hard they are

Jesus Christ will never leave any one of us alone, He will heal us

He’s just anxiously waiting for us to turn to Him reach out for His helping hand

He is a miracle worker

He is a healer by @doehler_scriptures

3 Nephi 13:1

Service is one of if not the best way for us to feel the Love of the Savior and to receive His blessings

But we will never feel that love if we are only serving for the attention of others

We can only feel Gods love and receive His blessings for us when our intentions are righteous

If you are serving others, or serving the Lord, but you’re only doing it to seek the eyes of those around you and not for the people you’re serving, you won’t be able to receive His blessings of love and peace

It is when we serve because we love God, and we love to help those around us, that we are blessed by @doehler_scriptures
