whether you want to or not, you must

mainly a piece about kissy having to support so many of her loved ones as well as uphold her destiny when truly she was never prepared for it. a lot of people rely on her and even though it looks like they’re comforting her in this piece, they’re actually the ones being comforted. kissy is weakly kneeling but still keeping her hear high to irissia, the one to tell her of her role in the world and how she must fulfill whether she wants to or not. after all, her species was a beacon of hope to the pelagians and shes the last of her kind.

irissia’s character is starting to expand a bit, as i want all the spirits of the world to be nuanced and flawed rather than perfect god-like creatures that can do no wrong. irissia for example is rather selfish placing the weight of the world on kissy’s shoulders, but one could argue she’s prioritising the lives of the many, which is her job as a life-sustaining earth spirit 🤷‍♀️ however girls got a big secret she’s not being honest about and spirits generally agree it’s forbidden to keep secrets, irissia thinks shes above that however…

anyway, its fun to think about backstory when drawing these pieces, its a lot of fun! by @doekis_

irissia, the life blood of the rainbow pelago. her magical ami sustains the islands, feeding it through her spectral roots from inside her realm. tokitrum, a reckless storm spirit, silent and erractic, has one goal, driven by a deep seated hatred, to obliterate kissy and irissia and devastate the islands. though his actions seem spiteful and aimless, below the surface lurks a personal grudge, and perhaps a secret irissia has kept for far too long by @doekis_

ahhh its been awhile since i drew warrior cats! i dont read the books anymore but the MAPs and characters have a special place in my heart, especially these two. their relationship is so sweet, sincere and sad. i have drawn these two a couple times over the years, ill have to compile them together! 🩷 by @doekis_

fuchsyrns (few-shurns) are helpful jungle alchemists who specialise in healing potions and soothing poultices. they are friendly and welcoming to all and tend to avoid conflict🌺

another species of the rainbow pelago, these guys hail from fruta jungle and are very selfless and hospitable creatures! i got the idea for these while sitting in my garden and admiring my fuchsia plants! fuchsias are my favorite flowers and the different varieties inspired me to make these guys~ by @doekis_

dove is up next! a tender little guy that has a lot of walls up, never got to experience a normal childhood so has a lot of trouble socialising but really really wants to fit in somewhere but even when he’s in good company he has to fight away bad habits that he learned from his mother. prone to coming down very hard on himself as well.

dove is actually one of the most fleshed out of the rainbow pelago cast but because his story involves a lot of spoilers for other characters its hard to share a lot when im not sure how i want to tell the story yet hehe. anywho, dollie next to round off the main cast!! then i might move onto some secondary characters by @doekis_
