Something I think about everyday

When I started touring 3.5 years ago a guy named Elijah called me and said “barbering means so much to Zach I want to make sure he has a barber chair” I was stoked at the idea but also had no clue how the new guy could make that work. Elijah said “dude, Zach has had his haircut but like 100 people and chose you. I’m gonna make this happen.” He FaceTimed me an hour later and showed me this 60’s barber chair that someone rigged on wheels. It was perfect. $60 Facebook marketplace find that’s home to a lot of people. I’m lucky I get to add to this chair’s story. Maybe it’ll end up in my garage, a museum, or maybe some ai company will try to find a way to get it to tell all of its stories one day. I hope if it that day comes it tells them all to eat shit; just like I would.

Happy Mother’s Day to my rock. You are the most beautiful woman inside and out. I’m lucky as hell to even be in the same room as you; better yet I get to raise two beautiful children with you. You do all of the things a lot of people overlook and I try to praise you for every single one of them. You’re the real definition of tough. You make so many sacrifices to make sure all of us always feel loved and heard. Something alot of us grew up without. I can’t believe I get to witness that and get to love someone who is so resilient. Thank you for teaching me not to question good things. Thank you for teaching our daughter to be just as tough as you. Thank you to teaching our son it’s okay to be in tune with your emotions. Thank you for loving us, changing your body, sacrificing cool fits sometimes, and literally just existing. I love you more than some social media post could ever suffice and I know you feel that every single day. 💙 taken in My World by @dogassmf

Something for all of you cool cats. These will be toe tappin’ at the barbershop in the next couple weeks; just in time for football season.

Someone tell @ochocinco to grow his hair out for a blonde Mohawk on us. Or maybe a head shave. Like McDonald’s breakfast these will be very limited. Unlike McDonald’s these will be high quality products made to last.

1 year with Mr. Roscoe. The day we found out about you was one of the craziest days of my life. Admitting that it was terrifying that we were going to be having a 3rd and not knowing how you can do the best job you can as a parent when you’re outnumbered. Reminiscing on this past year it’s just a reminder that through love you can really push yourself to boundaries you didn’t think were possible. Being outnumbered is scary but also having one child is too. Being scared and uncomfortable usually means you’re growing. Rocky you’ve done a great job at growing and making mommy and daddy always feel comfortable. Both of your dimples are so deep. Your smile brightens up any room. The way you are so intrigued by your siblings. You pick up on so many things. I could go on and on about how you ended being a constant ray of sunshine through the chaos of this beautiful life we’ve put you in. Rocky is the first baby I got to soak a lot the early days in and it’s created a lifelong bond. A bond that will always remind me that no matter what look for a smile that makes you feel something inside and remember that love will push you to new heights. Thank you for arguably the best year yet, Rocky Lane. Having another baby boy continues to heal parts of me that I hope you never have to try to understand. @sweethearts.vintage grand opening was yesterday. I walked outside to a damn line down the block. So many familiar faces and even more new ones. My best friends. Family. The daughter of the man we bought our home off of. So many clients from the barbershop. Ty and Ana came from fuckin’ Toledo. The guy who makes glass for pieces we’ve found with missing parts and when I saw Skip my eyes filled with tears. Chelsea found me with missing parts and made me whole again. I am so proud of her. This vision is a high risk/reward but also a reminder that showing up for people is one of the most important things in the world.
