Did you know Dogly started bc my mom would write and illustrate a book for me every year about our dogs and cats?

In 2014 one of those books called A Dog Who Went To Main Street was published and the passion people had for their dogs sparked an idea that launched a company that we’ve been working on together for nearly 10 years.

The first question people always ask me is “what is it like working with your mom?” And when your mom is a powerhouse like mine, the answer is she makes everything better.

This wasn’t the first post I planned on making in 2023 but I want the world to know about a heart-nosed girl named Harlow.

6 years ago, Harlow came to us as a foster from @mrbonesandco.

She was a skinny, pocket-sized pup with skin issues coming to NYC to find her family.

We were so lucky to be her first stop.

When Harlow met her forever family I knew they were meant to be. I loved Harlow (and truthfully thought about adopting her) but after seeing them together, she was the perfect fit into their family.

After Harlow was adopted, the vet discovered a health issue that would mean Harlow might not make it to another birthday. Because of her incredible family, she lived and was loved for years longer than any vet said.

I’m so sad to say the day we were dreading is here and little miss heart-nose lost her health battle. Please go to @jennybocch ‘s most recent post and send Harlow’s family all of your love.

And please remember Harlow when you see a rescue looking for fosters. Foster dogs may only live with you for a short time but it’s such a privilege to be a part of their whole life.

Why does confidence in our dogs matter?

Think about it in human terms.

When you walk into a room full of people you don’t know, do you get anxiety or are you confident and comfortable?

Apply the same thought to your dog.

If your dog is uncertain of what’s going to happen in a situation, he/she could show some anxious or fearful behaviors. So what do you do about that?

Certified force-free trainer and Dogly Training Advocate Melissa Dallier is hosting an “Ask The Trainer” live discussion on Dogly, if you want to know more about confidence building for fearful and anxious dogs.

This is your time to ask Melissa any behavior questions you have and learn from each other’s experiences!

The world is too much right now.
If you’re like us, we’ve been leaning on our dogs for support without even fully realizing it, truthfully.

Last night, Boz got up from the TV room and went to lie down in a dark and quiet room.
I went to check on him and found myself sitting there, petting him, in the quiet, very much realizing how much every moment we get matters.

There’s so much BS that takes our days and our attention. That’s not what matters.

Our people matter.
Our families matter.
Our kids matter.
Our pets matter.

I hope you get to fill your days, your head, and your heart with what matters to you.

And love on your pets if you need to. ❤️

Yes, Dogly has a community of dog trainers.
Yes, I know there’s a bunch of things I should be doing differently here to have less enthusiastic greetings.
And also yes, after traveling for a week it’s pretty great to come home to a silly exuberant smiling dog.

Dogs should live forever and never get old (in our opinion).

Since that’s not a reality yet, the best we can do is all the things to keep them feeling good, moving well, and eating right.

Certified Canine Nutritionist & Dogly Wellness Advocate Alicia Boemi is kicking off her monthly support group series for the humans of senior dogs on Monday on Dogly.
