‼️SQUID ANNOUNCEMENT‼️
•
Dog Named Squid debut album release is scheduled for TONIGHT at 8 pm on all streaming platforms. The album title “Lelia’s Produce” is a call back to our original band name when we started almost 10 years ago. The cover features a beautiful painting by Josh’s cousin, Amelia Stockman, depicting a nostalgic dirt road scene set in Bradley, South Carolina. The setting is a tribute to our late drummer, Jonathan Titus, who grew up in Bradley and hosted our inaugural jams at his dad’s place. The produce stand is inspired by some of his old sketches we hold sacred and Amelia did a great job casting our vision for the cover. The album was recorded in 5 consecutive days this summer with Matt Zuttell at @coastrecords where we all took a week off from life and recharged. The album feels thoughtful, reminiscent, and confident. Sometimes dramatic and brash, but always honest. After all this time, our friendships are stronger and deeper than ever and our most hopeful dreams as kids have been surpassed.

Today marks 5 years since you departed for the great beyond. Not a day goes by that we don’t think about you and wish you were here. You were a rolling thunder on the kit and a deep wellspring of passion in life. A determined force for good and a loyal brother to the core. These days you tread softly through the backroads in our mind. And when it’s quiet your rhythms echo through the hall of our memories like a faint gesture to press on and find something to believe in. We do our best to fill the hole left on the stage and in our hearts, but there are some things in life you can never fully come to grips with. And that’s okay.
