6 years ago, Do Good ATX hosted our very first community drive, it was a school supply drive benefiting the neighborhood I grew up in, Dove Springs. 💙📚

It was during COVID, and honestly, we had no idea what we were doing. My background was in the live entertainment industry, not community organizing. We just had a group of friends, volunteers, and a passion to give back. Together, we hosted a drive-thru giveaway with walk-ups and were able to provide over 500 school supplies and backpacks to students across South and East Austin.

That was also when I met George Morales @moralesiiigeorge , a longtime community organizer in Dove Springs, a leader with Dove Springs Proud, and now the Travis County Precinct 4 Commissioner. Over the years, George has been incredibly supportive of Do Good ATX and the work we’ve done in the community. I’m excited that six years later we’re partnering together to help get South Austin students ready for the new school year.

It’s a full-circle moment for me. To bring back the very first drive that started Do Good ATX and give back to the neighborhood that raised me. It means more than I can put into words.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Do Good ATX Summer Resource Drive! ☀️💙

Because of your generosity, we collected:
✨ 70 summer toys
✨ 150 packages of feminine hygiene products

Today, we donated a portion of the summer toys to the Dove Springs Recreation Center’s summer program, along with 360 pads to help support our community. Every donation makes a difference, and we’re so grateful for everyone who contributed.

Thank you for continuing to show up for our community and helping us make these donations possible. We look forward to sharing more ways you can get involved and give back with Do Good ATX soon. ☺️

Join us as we celebrate DJ Helios Day at Tropicafé 💚

From sound engineer turned DJ, Helios has built a prominent presence in music and entertainment for over a decade. Blending her Mexican roots with hip hop, cumbia, reggaeton, house, and funky edits, she creates high-energy sets that celebrate community, cultura, and connection through music ✨

Helios has performed for crowds of over 20,000 at Austin FC’s Q2 Stadium, brought her sound to major events in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Mexico City, and shared stages with artists like Billy Idol and Carin León. She’s also been an official SXSW artist in 2024, 2025, and 2026 💛

In recognition of her impact on music, culture, and community in Austin, the City of Austin officially proclaimed May 22nd as DJ Helios Day ☀️

To celebrate, Helios is using her day to give back to the community by partnering with Do Good ATX for our Summer Resource Drive ✨

Hi friends! I’m Desiree, the founder of Do Good ATX ✨

A little fun fact about me: my birthday falls on Valentine’s Day 💌 Over the years, Galentines became my way of celebrating friendship, womanhood, and self-love, no pressure, no expectations, just good energy and great company. In the words of Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec, it’s the best day of the year and should be a national holiday. 💖

With Do Good ATX currently hosting our Love, Period Drive, my amazing friend and DJ, @soyellaella, and I are so excited to invite you to our Galentines, a ladies night benefiting Do Good ATX’s Period Product Drive. Everyone is welcome!

Our goal for the night is to celebrate friendship and community while giving back. We’re collecting period products like tampons, pads, and panty liners to support houseless women and young ladies in middle and high school.

✨ Happy February ✨

It’s our final month collecting period products for our Love, Period Drive, and we are beyond grateful.

Because of y’all, we’ve collected 50 boxes so far, from tampons to pads to panty liners. Every single donation matters, and we can’t thank you enough for showing up with so much love and care.

A huge thank you to @latergatorcoffee for being such an incredible partner. While their SoCo truck is closed, they are still collecting donations at their Drinks location, and as a thank you, they’re offering a FREE yummy drink when you donate period products. Community really showing up for community.

We’re still accepting donations through our Amazon wish list, as well as digital donations via Venmo or Cash App for anyone who wants to support that way.

And next week… we’re hosting a Galentine’s celebration with a very special DJ we absolutely love. More details dropping tomorrow, so save the date 💖

Hope everyone is having a great 2026 so far. As promised, Do Good ATX will continue to help provide necessities to our community, starting the year with our Love, Period Drive.

Do Good ATX is collecting menstrual products to support local students and houseless women in our community.

Period care is a basic need, and access should never be out of reach.

For this drive, we partnered with a local, women owned coffee shop, @latergatorcoffee, as our drop off location for donations. We are so grateful for their support and partnership.

Still in awe from yesterday. So much love and so much unity. People from different walks of life, many of whom were meeting for the first time, came together for a great cause and helped serve so many families.

A full recap is coming later this week, but right now I am just incredibly proud of my commUNITY. From the volunteers to the vendors to the DJs, you all truly amazed me. Thank you for trusting @dogoodatx and the vision to give and have fun doing it!
