I always knew losing my mom affected me, but I didn’t realize how it affected her, especially because she was so young when she passed. This weekend, we visited her grandmother’s gravesite like we always do but this time she was very emotional. She cried, and expressed just how much she misses her.

It reminded me that children grieve too. Sometimes they just need the space to express it in their own way. She’s actually showing me, that it may be time for me to start grieving my mother’s death as well.

So I’m learning to listen, hold space, and let her feel it all. Together we’re learning that healing doesn’t mean forgetting. 🤍 by @doinglifeourway_
