Tijdens mijn vakantie heb ik het Britsh Normandy Memorial bezocht. Hier worden de Britse soldaten die meevochten tijdens D-day 1944 en de periode daarna herdacht. Een prachtig monument waarbij hun namen op de pilaren staan gegraveerd. Wat het voor mij echt indrukwekkend maakte waren 1475 silhouetten van soldaten. Een geweldig mooi eerbetoon aan hen die hun leven gaven voor de bevrijding van Normandië en uiteindelijk Europa. Om stil van te worden……..

During my holiday, I visited the British Normandy Memorial. Here, the British soldiers who fought during D-Day 1944 and the period that followed are commemorated. It is a beautiful monument where their names are engraved on the pillars. What made it truly impressive for me were the 1,475 silhouettes of soldiers. A wonderfully beautiful tribute to those who gave their lives for the liberation of Normandy and ultimately Europe. It leaves you speechless……..

De afgelopen weken genoten van een heerlijke vakantie in Normandië. Lekker eenvoudig en vooral met 1 lens (28mm) rondgelopen. Dit stel zat op een muurtje te genieten van het uitzicht op zee. Ik kon het niet laten dit vast te leggen. Blijkt dit een @leica_fotografie_international Mastershot te zijn. Best wel trots op.

I enjoyed a wonderful holiday in Normandy these past few weeks. Keeping it nice and simple, and mostly walking around with just one lens (28mm). This couple was sitting on a low wall enjoying the view of the sea. I couldn’t resist capturing this. It turns out this is a Leica Mastershot. Quite proud of it.
