It's official! April 13, 2025, The Artsy One was inducted into the 34th class of the University of Georgia's Arch Society.

The Arch Society is a unique student organization for students in their third year or higher. For 34 years, the Arch Society has attracted "leaders among leaders" to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for UGA. Named after one of the most illustrious symbols of the University—the Arch, the Arch Society demonstrates its passion and love for UGA though serving the university's community.

Also passionately known as, The People of the Arch (POTA), the ambassadors seek to serve the University of Georgia at all functions where it is desired to welcome and greet special guests and visitors; support campus events; provide tours; and serve in other official capacities. Futhermore, the Arch Society seeks to advance the University of Georgia through service to the offices of the President, the Provost, the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Senior Vice President for External Affairs, Alumni Relations, the Athletic Association, and other university offices or officials at appropriate functions.

My wish for her has always been to embrace all UGA has to offer and be kind to others. As a member of the Arch Society, I am convinced she will do both.❤️🖤 taken in University of Georgia Chapel by @dolls2divas

Breast Cancer Awareness Month hits hard for many of us. For me, I know way too many women that didn't survive. I won't even try to name them all. Special in my heart is my bestie, LaVinicia Harper (who was affectionately known as Angel). She fought a long hard fight.💪 My mom also had breast cancer. It was not the immediate cause of death for her, but definitely a health challenge.

Hats off to all my women and girls (and men) who are fighting this battle and defeating it! My SURVIVORS. I see you.🩷 It's always hard to know what to say. Stay Strong; Stay Positive; Keep Fighting!

I would like to highlight The Pink Frog Foundation. This is one organization that I will always vouch for and it is 100% hands on with those dealing with breast cancer. They provide unwavering support to so many who are fighting breast cancer. Tammy Bolton, Hats off to YOU and your HUSBAND for giving back to others and caring as you do.

So this post has two messages:

Message 1: Let's get the crazy part out the way. I will ALWAYS be a RIDE or DIE Falcons Fan. 🖤❤️. Whew, the game today was BRUTAL! #AtlantaNative #ProudToBeANative #IGoHardForMyCity
#WhenWillWeRiseUp🤦🏾‍♀️

Message 2: This picture is 11 years old (2015). I was 50 years old at the time. It popped up in my memory today. We were in Miami, celebrating my bestie (LaV's) 50th birthday. What a time we had! I have been thinking about how I have always pretty much been described as THICK; AN AMAZON; PLUS SIZE; A DIVA, and so much more. Because I was always very TALL, my parents raised me to be extremely confident in my skin and extremely confident when I walk in a room. So today, I say to all you ladies, embrace whomever you are and be your own leader. March to the beat of YOUR own drum. Be PROUD; CONFIDENT; and BE YOU! I still can wear that shirt, the shorts, and the heels today. So I looked at that picture, and once again, I embraced ME!

I HOPE this inspired someone that is self conscious about their body image. Be YOU! Do YOU! And let's keep it CLASSY!

Welp, summer Study Abroad in Italy is a wrap and here's to the First Day of School, Senior year! Three years ago, she was embarking on the beginning of college life, Freshman year and all the excitement of campus life and Freshman activities (note the traditional Power G). Once again, I cannot believe how time flies.

I am excited and #MomaProud as she starts her Senior year and contines to make her mark on life and at UGA ❤️🖤. Here's to a lot more prayer and praises as she embarks on this chapter of her life. Thank you so much to our village and prayer warriors!!!!!!

Both of my parents are deceased but, when I say I have lasting memories of what true love is, I get those memories from them. What a happy life we had watching our parents be in love. 🖤🤍 I am smiling because they are together.

Happy Heavenly Anniversary to my parents. It would have been 64 or 65 years for them. High School Sweethearts. ❤️❤️

Also, I just want to say Happy Anniversary to my aunts and uncles and my parents' closest friends that are still living and showing what real love is like. Some of you are on social media. Impressive! You all showed us as we were growing up what it is to live, love, and enjoy life despite all the odds! I am forever grateful for all the good times and memories. I salute you all. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @dolls2divas

Today, July 27th, marks four years since I said goodbye to my mom. Literally, telling her to go ahead and be with her man. We will be ok. She went on to transition a few hours before her wedding anniversary (July 28th) to her high school sweetheart, my dad.

Time waits on no one. We must persevere and keep moving in life. Let me say this, life ain't always easy; stay busy with purpose; surround yourselves with positive people; focus on your goals; and take time to enjoy your loved ones, family, and friends. You would not imagine how many times I still want to call my moma! She was our biggest cheerleader!

Life is full circle. We have a BIRTH date and inevitably will have an END date. What we do between that dash defines the life we live. You know me. I CELEBRATE my birthday to the fullest, and I try my best to live my life to the fullest and definitely DRAMA-FREE. I believe wholeheartedly in making memories as you can NEVER get special moments back. This, I get from my parents. My advice is to keep living and be good to people. Help somebody. Be Kind. Give back. One of the many valuable lessons I learned from my moma is that everyone doesn't deserve your time. The Circle of Influence is for real. Also, when people show you who they are, believe them. YOU can't change anyone. They have to want to change themselves. If they do, be there to help guide and mentor. Another, FORGIVENESS. Holding on to stuff causes stress; high blood pressure, and bad attitudes. My mom was a praying mom and always covering us. This scripture, she would recite to us frequently, "Jeremiah 29:11 says," I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a future with hope." I believe in this scripture and will continue to live it.

Be Blessed... by @dolls2divas

Cousin Tracie and I spent a week, June 4-11, in Italy with The Artsy One. On June 11th, Tracie and I headed back to the states. Lord, I miss the beautiful views, the water, the good times and the unforgettable memories we made! Most chronicles are on my Facebook page. Just too many pictures for Instagram.

This trip had a dual purpose. Neither of us had ever been to Italy, so it was a great opportunity to mark it off our Bucket List. It is also the beginning of an amazing adventure and life experience for The Artsy One. She will continue on to Study Abroad this summer in Cortona, Italy with her Interior Design cohort at The University of Georgia ❤️🖤. As a freshman, she set this as one of her many goals of her journey at UGA. Of course, there is a high academic standard to be accepted and she met the challenge. Her professors and advisor have been so supportive. They see her talents and push her to excel. I am just her moma and her cheerleader (maybe somewhat of her mentor too😉).

As I type and share I am finally crying. Not just because I will miss her, but because I am just so proud of her. I know my parents would be so extremely proud of her determination; scholastic accomplishments; and appreciation of the arts. She has found her place. She is a GOAL-getter. Such a self advocate and so determined to experience life to it's fullest. This picture of her embodies so much of her character and confidence. One of my favs.

Let the studying abroad begin! They will make several stops throughout Italy before they get to Cortona where they will actually study on UGA's campus there. I will continue to keep her prayed up and ask for your prayers and blessings too. 🙏🏾 My prayer warriors know the power of prayer. Thank YOU, my tribe and our village.❤️

Senior year has come fast!
